Prescription cards to be mailed out on May 14

The Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging announced the launch of the ProAct prescription drug discount program. Beginning May 14, ProAct will mail prescription discount cards to every household in Cattaraugus County. The discount card covers all prescription medications but cannot be used in conjunction with any other type of health insurance.
Cards will be mailed to every Cattaraugus County household, the week of May 14. Various county agencies and municipalities will also receive a supply of cards for distribution to residents. One card can be used for the entire family, regardless of the age of the family member.
The program is sponsored by the New York State Association of Counties and is offered by more than half of the counties in New York state.
