Put the brakes back on hunger in Concord and Ellicottville
Friday October 5, 2012 | By:Press Release |

Last year, this endeavor collected more than 3,000 pounds of food. Concord Mechanical and Ellicottville Auto Care representatives said they are hoping to double that number, this year.
With assistance from Springville NAPA, these locations will inspect and replace brake pads on customers’ cars and light trucks in exchange for a bag or box of non-perishable groceries or cash donations, during October and November, to benefit the Springville Food Pantry, the Springville Trading Post and the Ellicottville Food Pantry.
The free brake services will include free brake system inspections and evaluation reports and NAPA brake pads for free on most cars and light trucks, if needed. No other coupons or discounts will be applied. Customers may visit the shops for more information.
“We found a way to help our neighbors in a big way; this is our fourth year in a row of collecting food for those in need by installing free brakes on our neighbors’ cars,” said Doug Andrews, owner of Concord Mechanical and Ellicottville Auto Care. “It has become our fall pre-holiday ritual.
“Concord Mechanical has been around over 16 years and the family has been in Springville for generations,” Andrews added. “And now, with the addition of Ellicottville Auto Care over three years ago, we are excited about the prospect of helping a lot more people in both communities.”
