West Valley requests volunteers for festivities
Saturday June 2, 2012 | By:Press Release |

Talent is requested in the following areas:
Entertainers and musical performers (bands, soloists, dancers, jugglers, etc.) will perform on the outdoor entertainment stage. Performance times range from noon - 9 p.m. in half-hour time slots or longer, if requested. Anyone interested in performing may contact Nick Kowalski at 942-6571.
The West Valley Community Chorus will be performing a selection of traditional holiday-themed songs, as well as a tribute song to the veterans of the armed forces. Anyone interested in joining the chorus is asked to contact a committee member. Participants do not have to be West Valley residents.
A co-ed grass volleyball tournament will also be part of the day’s festivities. There will be two levels of play. The competitive level will consist of teams of two, three or four players, refereed at the varsity level (no carries, lifts, doubles, etc.). The recreational level will consist of teams of four, five or six players, with games’ refereed more loosely. The games will begin at 4 p.m. Pre-registration is required and an entry fee per player will apply.
Crafters and home hobbyists are invited to display their wares in the community craft show. Both indoor and outdoor spaces are still available but participants are asked to provide their own tables and chairs (and canopies, if they prefer to set up outdoors).
Volunteers are also asked to staff the community-run food booth and oversee the children’s area with the bounce house and other games. Interested parties may consider donating one hour of their time to help serve the community.
For more information or to sign up for any of the above, contact Mychelle McNeil-Wedvik at 597-6088.
