Style Club and Root 39 Salon have wrapped up their first makeover competition. Twelve stylists stepped up to the challenge of winning the top stylist awards in cut, color, makeup and style. The ladies made over a total of 44 clients, shot the photography and documented the procedures.
The winning makeover was done on Jennifer Kyle by Lenka Borska of Root 39 Salon. Andrea Pincoski of Salon One in Jamestown judged the entries. Pincoski, the former owner of Rapunzel’s Salon, has been an educator for Matrix, founded the Out Of This World Salon Competition and Bachelor Auction and will soon be a Wella International Educator.
Borska has been a stylist with Root 39 for two years. She specializes in color and cuts, skin care services, pedicures and nail care.
As the winning stylist, Borska will be able to choose a trip within the continental United States or accept a prize of $400. Kyle was awarded a $100 gift certificate to use at either shop for salon and/or spa services.
Receptionist Julie Goodrich received a $75 prize for booking the winning amount of entries.
The ladies were all treated to a steak and lobster dinner at an awards ceremony.
Brittny Draudt received employee of the year and was rewarded for her work and achievements, including chairman of 2011 Cocktails Drinks Salon Competition and Bachelor Auction Fundraiser, with a paid trip to the International Beauty Show in New York City this coming April.
Rita Gernatt was honored for more than 10 years of dedicated work with a trip to Nashville. Tammy Henry and Borska received rewards for top stylist and most improved, respectively. Several other rewards were received by the staff members, who will be using the money toward future educational classes and expositions. The stylists will also visit Baltimore this year.
