Independence Day events

Fourth of July celebrations in the area will include:

Concord/Springville
The Concord/Springville community picnic, coinciding with the town of Concord Bicentennial, will be holding a community family picnic at Concord Community Park on North Buffalo Road on Wednesday, July 4. There will be a softball game at 3 p.m.; the community family picnic at 5. Music by Gene Hilts and the Rustic Ramblers will be performed at 7, with fireworks’ starting at dusk.

Boston
The Boston Town Band will be performing at the town park on State Road beginning at 8 p.m., with fireworks’ starting at 10 at the park.

Chaffee-Sardinia
The Chaffee-Sardinia Fire Company firemen will be holding their annual carnival. The event started Friday and will continue Saturday, June 30 beginning at noon and continuing until midnight. On Sunday, the grounds will open with a horse show at 8:30 a.m. Events will continue until the fireworks and ground display at 10 p.m. The carnival is held at Veterans Memorial Park, Genesee Road in Sardinia.

Ashford
The town of Ashford will be holding an Independence Day celebration on Saturday, July 7, starting with a parade on Main Street at 11 a.m., and throughout the day, including an American Legion flag disposal ceremony at noon, along with a coaster car race on Depot Street, children’s games, antique car show, super raffle, craft and hobby show, quilt show, face painting, a volleyball tournament and more. There will be food available and music played throughout the afternoon and fireworks at dusk. These Independence Day festivities take place at the West Valley Central School grounds in West Valley.
