What happened between Simon Cowell and fiance Mezhgan Hussainy? Why does Simon Cowell regret getting engaged to her and why are they possibly splitting up?

The Chicago Sun Times claims Simon Cowell regrets his quick engagement to Mezhgan Hussainy and has drawn up a very generous financial settlement to cover both a "temporary break" and the expected permanent split that's coming.

If the Chicago Sun Times article is correct then we must ask where did things go so wrong between these two? It wasn't long ago that Cowell was buzzing about how happy he and Hussainy were and now just a short time later they are rumored to be breaking up and breaking off their engagement.

It was reported a couple weeks ago that Hussainy was lonely in London as Cowell was always so busy with his work. She apparently went back home to live because she felt unwanted. We don't know if that is where the trouble started but it is a good place as any to start.

I wrote when this was reported that Hussainy should have known what she was getting into when she decided to get engaged to a man like Simon Cowell. He time is taken up by his many different ventures and interests. I said she would have to make a decision regarding whether or not she could live like that. I have to imagine that she came to the conclusion that she couldn't.

It really is a shame though. They looked so happy together. I can see Cowell's point about regretting the quick engagement. If they had spent more time getting to know each other then maybe they could have avoided this whole thing.
