Ugh. I can’t believe we were made to watch the disaster that was called an NFL football game between two so-called NFL teams.
What has happened to the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns? They both used to be good. Heck they both battled each other in the playoffs at one point.
But, boy or boy how things have changed.
The Bills are pathetic. The playing calling is pathetic. The quarterback is pathetic and the coaching staff in pathetic.
Last week from my view I said the Bills should be able to beat the Browns. Maybe I was drinking the kool-aide. How could I think the Bills would ever win a game again this year?
Maybe I was thinking that they were more of the team that played on opening night against the New England Patriots. The one that played with the Patriots before the meltdown. One that Bills fans saw coming.
But, it looks like the boys quit. The quit on their coach and on the city. Trent Edwards is nothing more than a backup – which isn’t a bad thing, you could make a lot of money backing up Eli Manning or maybe our next quarterback.
Which brings me to this question.
Why is Derek Anderson the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns?
I mean seriously is he better than Brady Quinn? Do they even know what they have in Quinn. The kid only started a handful of games in the NFL and the way the Browns call plays it makes the Bills look like geniuses.
I would take Quinn over Edwards any day. How bad could Quinn do in this system?
It will be interesting if Quinn takes back the starting job after the wonderful performance of Anderson. We won’t get into the stats because people reading this might get scared and turn away.
Maybe, the Bills should open the quarterback job. Ryan Fitzpatrick is a fine quarterback and has proven that he can play in this league. His second half last year with the Bengals was good. He can’t do any worse than Edwards.
All I know is I saw better football games on Friday and Saturday – and that was high school.
Maybe the Bills will be lucky because Tampa Bay already drafted its “quarterback of the future,” so Buffalo could get their hands on Tim Tebow of Florida or Colt McCoy of Texas.
Or, maybe the will draft another pass rusher or how about another cornerback.
Soaring to new heights: Atlanta is proving that last year was a fluke – just ask San Francisco. The Falcons did whatever they wanted against the feel good story of the NFL.
Matty Ice looks more comfortable in his second year under center. The Falcons and New Orleans Saints will meet up in a couple of weeks to see who is the best in the division.
The Denver Broncos also made a statement by beating the Patriots. Everybody was wondering just how good the Broncos were and people were pointing to this game as a measuring stick.
It seems the Broncos measure high as they went toe-to-toe with the big dog and beat them in overtime. The defense is what is keeping the Broncos in games. I am still not sold on Kyle Orton as the quarterback – but he is better than Trent Edwards.
Bengals on the prowl: Carson Palmer really knows how to make games exciting. The Bengals did it again as the defeated Baltimore on a last second play. That’s two weeks in a row the Bengals got it down in the final minute. If they would have just knocked it down against the Broncos they would be undefeated.
The reason why the Bengals are doing so well is because they are balanced. They finally found a running game with Cedric Benson. Benson was considered a bust in Chicago, but it was that he was hurt.
Now that he is healthy, Benson gives the Bengals a great one-two punch.

As a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan, I'm left scratching my head. We know what we have in Derek Anderson, and it isn't much. We really have no idea whether Brady Quinn can be that quarterback, but we sure as heck should find out.
I don't think McCoy, Bradford or Tebow are any better than Quinn. The Browns should find out what we have before we are watching him play well - with some other team!
Good luck to our friends on the other side of the lake!!
