Katie Holmes and The Church of Scientology looking for new blood
It looks like The Church of Scientology and Tom Cruise's wife, Katie Holmes, are trying to find new recruits for their "church". Katie Holmes is now reaching out to her old boyfriend trying to convince him to join The Church of Scientology.
The Star claims Katie Holmes is trying to get former boyfriend Chris Klein to join the Church of Scientology. A source says, “Katie is a devout member and she believes deeply in their addiction program,Narconon, and its power to change lives. She has been reaching out to Chris and encouraging him to seek help there. She really believes it’s the best thing for Chris.”
The Church of Scientology is doing what it does best, relying on current members to bring in new money, err members to its ever shrinking organization.
Whether or not Katie Holmes is truly a devout member is debatable. Many people have claimed that she was brainwashed by her controlling husband, Tom Cruise. What is not debatable are the ties between the drug rehabilitation program, Narconon, and The Church of Scientology.
Many critics of the program claim that Narconon "is little more than a front for Scientology, used to recruit people into Scientology and to covertly introduce Scientology doctrines into wider society." They also claim that "Drug addicts are amongst the most vulnerable individuals in society, who by definition are not in full control of their faculties. They may often be unable to make fully rational decisions about their futures; a particular concern if they are potentially exposed to the often high-pressure recruiting tactics of Scientology." It has always been my opinion that The Church of Scientology is nothing but a cult looking to make as much money as possible by exploiting weak and vulnerable people. The Narconon program is highly dubious itself. *The program claims a success of around 70% but rarely makes its studies and statistics available to the public. *Almost all of Narconon's research papers have never been peer reviewed and a majority of them have been written by Scientologists and employees of Narconon which make them all of dubious value.
