Before My Husband Hung Up The Phone From A 911 Request For Help, We Heard The Police Siren. The Police Were At Our Front Door With Oxygen Within Minutes. The Ambulance Arrived Soon After. People Like To Hear They Can Save Money But They Have To Consider The Services They Will Most Likely Be Giving Up. Remember In An Emergency Time Is Of The Essence.

I agree. We decided the live in the village because we enjoy that way of life. Kevin Gaughan thinks he is just going to come in and wipe all that away. And when that happens you bet the services will disapear, and where will Kevin Gaughan be? Back in Buffalo, thinking he is a hero. The Village if Depew has been a self sustaining village for over 100 years. The village provides Police, Fire, Public Works and other eminities that we have become accustom to. Also how many other villages have their own school system? If the Mayor and village trustees cared a little and put some effort into their job people would complain less and enjoy living here. And lastly how can people go door to door to get petitions signed to dissolve the village without even a plan? This is so backwards. I want to see how we will save money, and if it doesnt work and our taxes go up who is going to pay for that? Not Kevin Gaughan.

What "Services"? "Way of Life"? The Police come quickly when you call 911 because Depew is NOT the size of Buffalo, besides, what else are the cops doing around here? Like it or not, Depew cops only care about their families and friends, period! As for dissolving the Village of Depew, I agree with Tony from another post, this Village is run by nepotism, those are the people the Village truly PROVIDES for, the ones that expect their free ride to continue forever! The Mayor doesn't care about this Village, she can't even shovel her sidewalk.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. She was a trusted friend/employee who, no matter what, stoled money and "forged records" and was on "paid administration leave", and still received health benefits, and retirement at taxpayers expense!! The fact that she stoled to supply town meetings with pastries and coffee, is unacceptable. By the way, where the pastries and coffee imported at the cost of over $12,000? I am her age, and would never think of doing something like that. What a shame, and shame on her.

ok, taxpayers paid her while out on "Adminstrative leave" at about $46,000/year from Oct till she resigned (which she should of gotten fire, as now, she can COLLECT her retirement at your expense). So take her salary for those months of $23,000, approx. $6,000 for health ins., and whatever her retirement is PLUS approxiamtely $100,000 OR MORE, FOR AUDITING FEES TO GO BACK TO 2005. APPROXIMATELY $129,000 THIS HAS CAUSED THE TAXPAYERS ALONG WITH OTHER MISC. CHARGES!!! She should be made an example of!!! How funny she had the funds to pay it back so quickly!!!

I Was Finally Determined To Write After Reading Joe From Tonawanda's Article About The Thefts At The Aquatic Center. I Have A Senior Membership At The Center And Really Enjoy Going There And Taking My Grandchildren. I Had My Bathing Suit Stolen On New Year's Eve After Accidentally Leaving It On The Bench While Drying My Hair. I Thought Someone May Have Taken It By Accident And Would Return It. After Numerous Times Searching Through The Lost And Found Boxes I Am Realizing That This Is Not Going To Happen. I Know What I Lost Is Nothing Compared To The People Mentioned In Joe's Article But It Is Still Hard To Imagine Someone That Desparate To Steal A Senior Woman's Bathing Suit.

Today I Received A Letter From The United States Department Of Commerce U.s. Census Bureau Stating That In About One Week, I Will Receive A 2010 Census Form In The Mail. When You Receive Your Form, Please Fill It Out And Mail It In Promptly. Do They Really Need To Send Me A Letter To Tell Me They're Sending Me A Letter Next Week? Can You Imagine The Cost Of Mailing This Useless Letter To Every Household In The United States? That Money Spent On Paper, Printing, Envelopes, Postage And Manpower Could Have Been Spent In Hundreds Of Better Ways. No Wonder The Government Has No Money To Help People That Really Need It.

I agree with you Steve. All of a sudden ALL of the posts about individuals not having their EMT cards or whatever other certifications are now erased and no one is saying anything else. Did those individuals ever produce their required cards or did it just get swept under the rug? This is such a disgraceful situation that we, as the taxpayer never will get the answer for. I guarantee that those individuals and their \"cronies\" will post something to our posts about \"if we don\'t like it move out of Cheektowaga\" or they will blame the other individuals who lost to them for posting this. I am not one of those people, just a TAXPAYER of Cheektowaga that deserves to know where my money is going! There are HONEST, HARD WORKING individuals who go for their training and ALSO have FULL TIME jobs AND families. Do either of these two individuals have a \"REAL\" job or a family, besides a wife? All I Can Say Is, I Never Want To Hear Whining From A Teacher (buying School Supplies, Dealing With Unruly Kids) Ever Again. Both My Husband's And My Salary Is Roughly The Same Amount As One Teacher (in The 65-70k Range, Not >100k). Teachers Gripe How They Have To Stay Late? Well, So Do I. To Everyone Reading This Please Do Not Foster Or Adopt One Of These Animals From Them. They Come From Out Of State Free And She Charges People To Get Them Shipped Here And Then Charges You To Pay For Them That Is Bullcrap. I Wouldnt Condone Buying Something Someone Got Free And All They Do Is Get Them Shots Hello You Can Get Shots On Your Own Time After You Get A Dog. Plus You Dont Know What Temperament These Dogs Have At All And They Just Guess And Sell The Dogs Or Puppies As Soon As They Are Healthy Enough To Go. That Is Like A Puppy Mill And Thats Sick. i swear to god this is all true what i said and encourage people not to purchase or foster a dog or any animal from there, it is sick to have someone foster dogs or an animals from out of state. come on why do they have to ask for money to bring in dogs from other states thats just rude.dont we have enough animals that are sick or on death beds in ny without other problems of another state, when i was fostering for them the animals they brought me had fleas , mange etc and when my pets got fleas she charged me to treat my pets and they didnt have the problems before i fostered for them. thats rediculous. the one set of puppies i got were so ill that i had to spend over 50 + dollars on food to try and get them back to health and when they were a little better in health the bpc adopted them out to people. they werent even old enough a few of them. the one older dog i fostered was like 3 lbs when i got her and was like 18 lbs when she was adopted out and thats just sick and i will never again foster for bpc in east aurora again. bpc you are all crazy for doing such a job. it is time consuming and just dont have time to research before you bring in these aniamls do you . well then get out of the idea of rescuing if you cant answer a simple call about the animals you have someone fostering for you or that wants to adopt one of your animals you guys make me sick you lazy morons. get a wake up call! duh.....
