    Let's Be Thankful
Each Week People Write In And Complain About Many Things In Cheektowaga. It Is Time To Start Being Grateful That We Live In This Town. I Have Lived Many Other Places And If I Had To Move, I Would Move To Another Location Right Here In Cheektowaga. We Have Excellent Fire And Police Protection. The Location Is Convenient To Anything In Western New York. The Shopping Is Great. People Are Generally Very Friendly. We Have Good Community Services. Perhaps If We Concentrated More On The Positive, We Would Solve Some Of The Problems That Are So Often Listed In This Column. I Am Grateful For Good Neighbors. Sure There Can Be Problems, But Overall, Let's Let People Know That Cheektowaga Is A Really Good Place To Live.

You know everyday i am always hearing horror stories about Cheektowaga POLICE department, now you have the chief of police from Cheektowaga running for office and in one of his commercials he says how fair his inmates are treated, well there is lie # 1 i spent 2 days in there and was treated like a piece of garbage, the place had urine and feces on the floor where you had to sleep and they take 90% ofyour clothes and when its cold outside its twice as cold in your cell and your pillow is a roll of toilet paper.I know this is not the Sheraton hotel but they treat people in poverty stricken worlds better!!They did 5 cell checks and i asked to use the phone to let someone know i was being held. Each time they walked buy they would always say we are to busy right now maybe later, the one time they did bring the phone around of course i was sleeping and do you think they got me up knowing i have been asking many many times to use the phone to let my family know i needed their help.my charges were dropped but i know there are people they get in there just dont care either and leave disgusting stuff behind when they leave but we are americans and to sit in a cell in Cheektowaga is like being a prisoner of war they could at least treat you like a human but the power of the Badge goes to their heads and they abuse it badly, just send a health inspector to come in there on any given day to see how the prisoners are living, sometimes up to 2-3 days.I think after spending the 2 days in filth in Cheektowaga your sentence should be dismissed,Have some kind of pride in your job not everyone that enters your 3rd world jail is a murderer sometimes we make mistakes, its like not one of them policemen has ever done wrong in our society i dont think so

Cheektowaga police should be investigated, they are always harrassing people,I have heard so many horror stories about this department they need classes on how to deal with the public and not use their authority to scare people.you ride by the court building on any given day and the parking lots are full of people going to court.i would like to know if any of these cases that go before a judge are treated fairly, just like the one guy who wrote on steam about being pulled over with his fiance and being accused of running a red light, you cant argue with the judge because of course his' boys'dont lie and you end up paying some kind of fine no matter if your telling the truth. Is that fair we will never know,so to the policemen and women only you know the truth and let god punish you in the end how can you go home to your family at the end of your shift and know you might of ruined some honest person trust just to get a quota i hope they can sleep at night and if you know you lied and dont care then you have a serous problem get help

I know for a FACT that the Cheektowaga Judges come in every day to arraign prisoners. Theres no way you were there for 2 days!

A Doctors Point Of View On Healthcare Reform
Many Years Ago I Left My Country, poland.as A Medical Doctor I Spent Half Of My Time Fighting The Government On Behalf Of My Patients. Care In Poland Was Rationed By The Government And Age Dependant. If You Were Young You Would Recieve The Most Care. If You Were Old Most Treatments Were Denied By The Government. I Saw Too Many Senior Citizens Suffer Needlessly And Many Families Hurt Watching A Beloved Granma Or Granpa Suffer Needlessly. You See Poland Has Socialized Medicine As Well As Germany. Germany Has Had Socialized Medicine For Nearly 145 Years. German Citizens Have Also Seen Higher Taxes And Services Cut. Finually Germany Is Going Bankruppt From Healthcare And The Government Now Realizes That They Must Return To A "free Market" System In Order To Avoid Total Collapse.unfortunately My Homeland Poland Still Has Socialized Medicine.senator Baucus Bill Will Add 10 Million People To Medicaid. The Federal Government Will Pass This Responsibility On To The States Forcing All To Have Taxes On Both Federal And State Level Increase. Drug Companies Will Not Be Allowed To Make A Profit And This Will Prevent Much Needed Developement Of New And Improved Medicine.all Citizens Will Face Mandated Carewhich Gives Doctors A So Called "budget"and If The Doctor Exceeds His "budget" He Will Face Fines.if A Doctor Gives A Patient Too Many Tests To Learn What Is Wrong And How To Treat The Patient He Will Also Be Fined Under The Baucus Bill.i Urge Strongly That Every Citizen Please Talk To Your Own Doctor. Ask Him Or Her What He Or She Thinks Of This So Called Healthcare Reform.a Recent Survey Shows That 54% Oppose The Bills And A Mere 35% Approve Of The Bills. It Is Merely The Government Seeking To Reform Or Transform A World Class Healthcare System. While It May Not Be Perfect It Is The Best In The World.congress Has No Idea How To Practice Medicine So Why Are They Making Healthcare Decisions That Will Effect The Lives Of All Americans? We Need To Stand Up And Ask "who Will Pay For This Bill?"440 Billion Dollars Will Be Taken Away From Medicare And Seniors Will Suffer The Most. In Poland And Germany Health Insurance Premiums Rose By 40% And Under The Baucus Bill You Will See That Type Of Increase In America Too.the Government Is Trying To "bribe" Doctors To 'go Along" With Reform By Offering To Pay Student Loans Off In Exchange For 10 Years Of Loyal Service To The Government Under The Baucus Bill.the Cbo Estimates The True Cost Of Reform Over 10 Years To Cost 3 Trillion Dollars. The Seiu Is Involved And Stands To Benefit Huge If The Bill Passes. Unfortunately Its The Doctors And Patients That Will Loose The Most Should This Pass. Did I Mention The Huge Tax Increases We All Will Face? For Example I Offer Full Healthcare To All 10 Of My Staff. This Costs Approximately $125,000.00 Per Year. Under The Baucus Bill I Will Have To Pay An Additional Tax On Those Benefits Of 40% Or $50,000.00. What Do I Do? Layoff Staff? Cut Benefits? All Business Owners Will Have Tough Decisions To Make And It Will Not Be Good.i Urge You To All Write And Call Charles Schumer, Kristine Gilabrand, And Brian Higgins And Tell Them To Vote "no" On Healthcare Reform Or You Will Not Be Voteing For Them Next Election.

One more thing to add that I missed. I would like to urge all young people to get involved and write and call the very people who are trying to ram this bill down our throats, Charles Schumer, Kristin Gilebrand, and Brian Higgins and tell them to vote "NO". Why is this so important? Because in the Bills young people between the ages of 18 and 30 will be forced to buy health insurance whether they want to or not. They will see there income taxes go up at least 10% and they will be forced to pay a 40% tax on the health insurance policy they will be forced to buy. How many young people just starting out in life can afford this?

here is some additional information that i have learned in buried in the 1500+ pages of this bill. The democrats are trying to force doctors to agree and support the bill by saying they will not cut medicare reimbursement payments if we agree and show support for the bill. So basically in my opinion the democrats are threatening us doctors. This bill is not healthcare reform its the take over of healthcare by the government. From what i see you will not have any choices eventually as health insurance companies will be forced out of business and the only place you will be forced to buy health insurance from is the government. Our biggest ememies in New York are Charles schumer and Kristen Gilebrant. Mainly Schumer who is pushing for the public option which eventually will be the only option.Lets send them a message that if they vote yes for this bill we will vote them out of office next election.

People WAKE UP!!!!! Do you not see what This President and his congress are doing to this GREAT COUNTRY? He (Obama) said in a speach he gave just five days before the election and I quote " we are just five days aways from fundamentally changing this country." And boy did he mean it. wasn't anyone listening to what this man was saying? Was everyone high on the obama-aide? first it was the banks being taken over, then the car companies, then wallstreet and now health insurance which is 1/6 of our econmony. Both young and old need to be concerned and call your representatives. Listen to the doctor, he's right.

Doc, you are right on the money. I asked my Doc and he said we will all be in trouble. Patient care will suffer and taxes will go up and the country will be buried in debt. One other thing, Charles Schumer is pushing for the so called "public option." This is bad and this man should not be re-elected next time arround. I wonder when voters are going to wake up? A "free lunch" isn't always free. Someone has to pay for it. Our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will be the ones paying for this and so will those with there lives when they get sick and denied coverage. Ask any canadian shopping at the Galleria Mall how much they like there "public option." I did and they all hate it. Those that do get sick and denied coverage if they have the money come here for treatment while others are left to simply die from cancer.VOTE SCHUMER OUT IF HE PUSHES FOR THE PUBLIC OPTION!!!!! WISE UP WESTERN NEW YORKERS!!!!!

Its going to get worse. Nancy Pelosi had the nerve to stand there and give a speach saying her bill is everything Americans wanted in reform. What a liar. Also Charles Schumer and Kristin Gillibrand have to go as they support this nonsense and money sucking monster of a socialist bill. The CBO said Pelosis bill would cost 1.055 Trillion dollars and insurance premiums would skyrocket for all Americans. She (Pelosi) says that is what Americans want? She needs to get off the Obama aide and get back to reality here.

What if ........ - Commented by: Tim on: 2009-11-01
I'll agree that congress doesn't have the knowledge to run anything much less the health care system. We should, however, get off our high horse. A doctor should make a good salary. A very good salary, not an extremely ridiculous salary though! What if the doctor actually kept the appointments, ON TIME ........ instead of eating those gourmet lunches they get from the pharmaceutical reps that they see every single day! EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!

The statement ... "..the Government Is Trying To "bribe" Doctors To 'go Along" With Reform..." is different than ".. the paid dinners for writing more scrips for a particular drug .." how?

I understand exactly how money it cost to develop a new drug, or improve one. Let's say 100 millon for the development ....... the company should make a profit, sure is a lot of money! Now , the reality is, the company is most likely bringing in 80 - 125 million EVERY MONTH off of this product!! Not a year! EVERY MONTH! there is a line at making a profit and raping the public! PERIOD!

The government should fund and closely watch the research for the "helpful" drugs, necessary medication that seriously threatens the public health......... not the "bullshit" medication for restless leg syndrome?? Really? Erection medication?

I'll have to support better birth control due to the fact that there are way too many people breeding on this plaent ............ BUT WHAT IF ....... they make a medicine that doesn't cause heart attacks, bleeding gums or make my intestines fall out of my ass??? How many poorly developed drugs do we, the people, have to endure before the mindless politicians have to step in?

What the hospitals charge for services should be a crime. Is it there fault? I would have to go back to the equipment companies and drug companies on that one. everyone should make money ...... this is what it's all about ...... but maybe we should look at these suppliers and think about regulations on how much.

Doctors should make money ....... school is difficult ....... but really? If you don't like the job and the pay .... join the rest of us and due hard work for a living.

People should also not be able to sue a doctor or hospital unless it was a pretty bad error ... Now we should regulate the lawyer, because, like the unions .......... they have ruined this country.

The government should step in when health care, frivolous lawsuits, record high profits on gas, the entire fault in out electrical systems and the cost of natural gas .......... especially natural gas! It's our most abundant resource our country has ....... thank god, too, wouldn't want the people to freeze to death in the winter because they couldn't afford it!!!

I heard a saying once ..... " this county needs an enema ...... we just can't afford it!

A DOCTORS POINT OF VIEW - Commented by: Dr. mike on: 2009-11-06
Tim apparently you have no idea as to what it cost to run a medical practice. Its basically like running a small business. Would you feel that it would be wrong if I made $750,000.00 this years? Now subtract my insurance which includes health insurance for my employees,my building insurance,my medical malpractice insurance, my familys health insurance, and my auto insurance. Next you have the mortgage on my building, my town, county and school taxes. Next is the salaries of 5 employees plus benefits of sick time and vacation, 401k contibutions etc..My student loan payments for the next 30 years. Add to the fact that I generally work 70 to 80+ hours a week and Im on call which can add to 90+ hours. So with that said if I net $150,000.00 to $200,000.00 is that also too much money? I can tell you Im not in it for the money. I could of played sports and made multi million dollar contract deals BUT I chose to work in a field I truely enjoy and to help save the lives of people. So if you favor President Obama and his health care reform which is basically a government take over maybe living in Canada for a few years will change your mind.

    Town Supervisor Giza Threatens Citizenry
At The November 2 Town Board Work Session, Supervisor Giza Stated, “if I Ever Find Out Anyone Ever Started A Rumor About Me, You Better Leave Town”. This Statement Was In Regards To The Anger He Felt About Alleged Rumors And Innuendos Being Spread On The Internet. While I’ll Agree Most Items Written On The Internet Regarding Supervisor Giza May Be Considered Disparaging, A Preponderance Of That Which Is Written Is Fact. While Looking For Cuts In The 2010 Budget, The Councilmen Agreed To Not Accept Their 2010 Raise, But Supervisor Giza Will Continue To Take His. Fact On November 3, 2008, The Town Board Adopted A Resolution Indicating That The Councilmen Would No Longer Be Eligible For The Healthcare Buyout. Supervisor Giza Voted “yes” To This Resolution, But Mr Giza Has No Qualms About Receiving This Buyout Himself. Fact Supervisor Giza Has Been Promoting New Athletic Fields Which In The End Will Cost Taxpayers More Money. But He Wants To “do It For The Kids”, As He Takes Away From The Kids By Receiving His Healthcare Insurance From The Lancaster/depew Boys And Girls Club. Fact Why Doesn’t He Do It For The Kids? The Following Questions Are Not Rumors Or Innuendos. They Are Just Thoughts To Ponder. What If It Is Found That Elected Officials, As Non-town Employees Had No Legal Right To Receive The Healthcare Buyout As The Town Employees Are Afforded In Their Csea Contract? Would Current And Past Officials Who Received It Have To Pay Those Funds Back To The Taxpayers? Will A Town Supervisor’s Threat To Its Citizenry Cause A Visit To His Residence From The Fbi? If The Situation Was Reversed, It Certainly Would. No Innuendo, No Rumor, Just This One Undeniable Fact- Supervisor Giza Can’t Keep His Hands Out Of The Taxpayer Cookie Jar, No Way, No How.

    Public Employees
I Went To The Rath Building Yesterday To Get My Nys Benefits Card. I Was Unfortunately Laid Off Two Months Ago And Applied For Food Stamps So I Can Feed My Family, Which Includes Two Small Children. We Called Our Case Worked And Were Told To Come To The 4th Floor And Our Card Would Be Waiting. It Wasn't There So We Had To Go To Another Floor And Wait In Line For About 45 Minutes To Give Them Our Name; Nothing Else, Just Our Name. We Were Then Told To Go Back To The 4th Floor And Wait To Be Called. Then We Had To Wait Another Two Hours To Get Our Card. While Waiting, We Saw One Man Get Yelled At By A County Employee Because She Thought The 4 In His Social Security Number Was A 9. People Were Being Berated By Workers The Entire Time. When We Asked Why This Was Taking So Long, We Were Told To Sit Down Because "when You Come Here, You Have To Wait A Long Time." All This Because Someone Forgot To Mail Us Our Benefits Card A Month Ago! If This Was A Private Company, Every One Of The Employees I Spoke With Would Have Been Fired For Providing Terrible Customer Service And Being Rude To The Customers. I Didn't Ask To Be Laid Off And Need Food Stamps To Feed My Family. Please Treat Those Who Are A Little Down On Their Luck Like The Human Beings We Are!

I Am Sick & Tired Of Picking Up My Garbage From All Over The Front Of My Property. They Hurry And Spill Garbage Everywhere, Everyweek. There Seems To Be A Problem Especially With Kitty Litter..... I See It Spilled All Over The Neighborhood. I Put The Used Litter In Closed Containers Or Tied Bags. Sure Enough, Every Week, There's The Kitty Litter All Over The Front Of My Driveway. People On The Next Street Said They Too Have The Same Problem, No Matter What Container The Litter Is In, It Gets Spilled All Over Her Driveway. On My Way Home From Work I Saw It Spilled At Another Home, All Over The Driveway!i Refuse To Call The Town Because Then I Will Have More Problems And More Broken & Smashed Garbage Cans.

Everytime You Turn Around You See Builders Building New Buildings In Our Area. Some Of Them Don't Even Have Renters. Benderson's Name Is On Garden Village Plaza For The Last Few Years And There Is Only One Store In That Plaza. When Are You Going To Do Something About This. It Looks Terrible For Cheektowaga To Have A Major Builder Purchase This Property And Not Even Take Care Of It. This Area Is Lacking Stores Like Michael's Craft Store, A Dollar Tree, Small Grocery Store For The People Whom Live At Garden Village, Etc. There Is So Much You Could Do By Knocking Down This Eye Soar And Rebuilding. I Bet There Are So Many Rodents Running Around In That Vacant Place. Time To Clean Up Cheektowaga!!!

    Priorities And Accountability
The News Media Spent (wasted) A Third Of Tonight's 6 O'clock Broadcast On A Horrible Accident Today In Amherst. Four Teenagers Were Killed. As Usual, The Story Was Filled With Moans And Tears But Completely Missed The Point. The Boy Driver Reportedly Loved His Car And Loved To "drive Fast". Speed And Disobeying Traffic Signs Was The Cause Of The 4 Deaths. Toys, Flowers And Candles Adorn The Side Of The Road, But Nowhere Was It Mentioned That We Need To Have Sympathy For The Innocent People In The Other Car, Who Were Driving Sensibly And Following The Rules. A Golden Opportunity Presented Itself Here....the Media Could Preach About How Irresponsible The Teens Were, And Make Them An Example To Teach The Other Kids In The Neighborhood What Can Happen When You Disobey The Law. Instead, The Media Blew It. I May Sound Insensitive, But Like I Said What About The Innocent People?

    Traffic Circle
I Really Enjoy The Traffic Circles That Were Placed On Harlem Rd. Last Spring. However, The Traffic Circle At The Intersection Of Harlem And Cleveland Is A Two Lane Traffic Circle. Heading Southbound On Harlem The Posted Sign Shows That The Outside (right Hand) Lane Is For Traffic Exiting At The 90(west On Cleveland) And 180 Degrees (continuing South On Harlem), And The Inside (left Hand) Lane Is For Traffic Exiting The Circle On The 180 Degrees (continuing Southbound On Harlem) And The 270 Degrees (east Bound On Cleveland). Multiple Times Have I Been In The Inside Lane And Had Traffic Treat The Circle As If They Can Drive In Both Lanes And Change Lanes From The Outside Lane To The Inside Lane And Come Inches From Hitting Me. Another problem is the people who stop in the middle of them to let people in. Someone is going to get rear ended. When you are in the circle, you have the right of way. Leaves
I Would Like To Comment On People That Are Putting Their Leaves In The Street. Your Leaves Are Supposed To Be Piled Up At The Edge Of Your Grass, At The Street, Not In It. Putting Your Leaves In The Street Causes The Already Narrow Streets To Be Narrower Not Allowing For Two Cars To Safely Pass Down The Street, Without Driving Over The Piles, Which Is Also Dangerous Considering That Small Children Like To Play In Leaf Piles. I Don't Understand Why The Town Does Not Enforce This. This Also Causes Parking Problems. I Would Like To See The Town Send Out Warnings, And Then Fine The People Who Continue To Do This.

Saterday Detention At South Buffalo Charter School
Last Week I Received A Phone Call From My Children School. They Wanted To Let Me Know That My 9 Year Old Daughter Who Has Severe Adhd Did Not Turn In Some Homework Assignments. While I Do Not Like To Use My Daughters Health Impairments As An Excuse, I At The Same Time Sometimes Do Not Have The Choice. They Informed Me That Due To The Missing Home Work And 4 Unexcused Absences She Would Have To In Turn Serve A Saterday Detention. I Calmly Tried To Explain That Saturday Detention Was Impossible For Us Due To The Fact I Would Have No Transportation For Her And I Also Have 3 Other Children. They Very Rudely Let Me Know It Was Not They're Problem And I Would Have To Find A Way. Now I Am Fully Aware Of The Metro And Other Forms Of Transportation, But I Also Have A Child With Autism Who Does Not Take Well To The Company Of Strangers, and Not To Mention My Very Tight Budget Does Not Include Bus Fair Or Taxi Rides. Unfortunitley My Daughter Did Not Make That Detention. I Tried Endlessly To Speak To Someone Pertaining To This And Got No Where! Now The End Result Is A 1 Day Out Of School Suspension! Are You Kidding Me South Buffalo Charter School? How Does This Solve Anything? You Mean To Tell Me That The Result Of A Punishment Handed Down For Missing Homework And School Days Is By Making These Kids Miss School? This Is A Joke Right? And There's No Solution? Please Except My Apologies For Being A Single Mother On A Budget With No Transportation. In Closing I Would Like To Know What The Lesson Learned In This? That By Not Doing Home Work And Missing School You Get A Free Day Off From School? And I Also Wanted To Extend My Gratitude For The Punishment You All Gave Me.

You knew the rules when you signed her up for that school. Illegal, unexcused absence is also your own fault...send in an excuse why she was absent next time!

It's not there problem, it is yours! Kids today have no clue what discipline is. Sorry your a single mom, but 3 kids?

Parents are way to easy on their kids because they don't want to take the time to raise them correctly. It's easier to just blame everyone else because we don't have the time to take them to detention ...... certainly had plenty of time to churn out 3 of them though ....... and you get a break on taxes while the rest of us are required to make it up ........ Do you job and discipline your kids!

Mayor Of Depew Taints Halloween Tradition
A Long Standing Tradition Of Generosity And Civic Affection Was Cut Short On Friday Night And May Be Cut Out Completely. Each Year, For Several Years, On Oct. 30th, The Depew Fire Dept. Has Sent A Truck And Several Firefighters To A Neighborhood In The West End Of The Village To Hand Out Cider, Candy And Doughnuts To All Of The Kids And Parents Trick Or Treating In The Area. They Have Always Been Well Received And Appreciated For Their Generosity Towards The Village Residents. This Year, However, One Person Did Not Agree With The Fire Departments Efforts. That Person Is Mayor Barbara A. Alberti. For Unknown Reasons Mayor Alberti Passed On An Order To The Firefighters To Pack Up The Cider, Candy And Doughnuts And Return To The Fire Hall. When Asked Why They Were Leaving Early One Firefighter Responded With "i'm Sorry, But We Were Told To Report Back To The Hall". It Has Now Become Painfully Obvious That Mayor Alberti Has A Personal Problem With Our Fire Department. From Large Budget Cuts To The Department. To The Cancellation Of The "night Out" Festival Along With This Latest Display Of Poor Judgment, It Appears As Though She Will Stop At Nothing To Get The Village Residents To Look Unfavorably Upon The Fire Department. And As Usual She Needs To Deprive The Village Resident In Order To Make This Happen. I Think She Needs To Decide If Its Healthy For Her Personal Issues To Continue To Come Before The Better Good Of The Village. Or Maybe She Has Already Made Her Decision. Election Time Seems Longer Away Than Ever.

Hats off to the Depew Fire Dept - Commented by: Abolishalberti on: 2009-10-31
Kudos to the members of the Depew Fire Dept’s West End Hose Company. I have been a life time resident of the village of Depew’s West End District. It has been a tradition since I’ve been a kid that Trick and Treating has been on beggar’s night. For the past 10 years these Volunteers have been set up on the corner of Barnabas & Madaline handing out Cider/Donuts & Candy to my kids as well as our neighbors. The smiles they put on these children’s faces are overwhelming. Once again, they have taken time out of their lives and being away from their families to give back to their community. These firefighters attract more than 1000 children and their families and I know this because I hand out that many pieces of candy. We, your neighbors appreciate all that you do & hope you continue in the future. Shame on You Mayor Alberti for taking this away from our community and getting involved w/ something that has nothing to do with you. What more are you going to ruin for our Village Residents ……. You’re an embarrassment to this village. Its time you step down. Election 2011 can’t come soon enough.

Pardon Me If I Am Curt, But This Has To Be The Dumbest Steam I Ever Read. Pay Your Ticket, Admit Your Guilt, And Stop Whining. Who In Their Right Mind Would Unbuckle Their Seatbelt Until After They Were Off The Highway? Most Accidents Happen Close To Home. Besides, Anybody Driving Down A Busy Street At 15 Miles An Hour Is Asking To Be Rear-ended. And No, I'm Sure There Are Not A Lot Of People That Do That. But Yes, It Most Certainly Is A Bad Habit. And No Again, The Majority Is Not Against The State Police Being In Town. In Fact.....guess What?...i Live On The Same Street You Got Your Ticket On And I Have Numerous Times Lobbyed For Greater Sp Presence. Our Neighborhood Is A Speedway And People Run The Stop Signs All The Time. Don't You See The Children Walking The Street All The Time? Yeah Coppers.....y'all Come Back Soon, Ya Hear?

RESPONSE TO FRANK ABOUT COPPERS - Commented by: Steve on: 2009-10-17
Just because you want the police monitoring everything we do and I do not, does not make the post the "dumbest" you have ever read--is that how you justify it being dumb, simply because you dont agree with it--and is "dumb" the most articulate word you could conjur up to express your true passions of support for a heavy, yet imbalanced police presence within the town of Wheatfield?

Firstly, I never stated I was not guilty and I admit to the bad habit of removing my seat belt prior to arriving at my residence. That was never in doubt. My intention, which I could not make known due to limited space, was that every law, every single law, is open to interpretation. The reason being is that a situation can easily be conceived that makes any given law irrelevant or unnnecessary to be applied. This leaves the determination of applying particular laws, given the circumstances that be, to the officer on scene. For example, speeding is prohibited by law, but if I am racing to the hospital with an injured child I am not going to receive a ticket from an officer once he realizes the urgency of the situation. You see, the law is open to interpretation, and it applies to every law no matter the significance of the law broken.

Now seat belts--intended to save our lives, keep us protected and from bodily injury. If I remove my seat belt just before turning down a street with next to no traffic and hardly an 1/8th of a mile long, and at speeds that are so minor that death and injury statistics based on seat belt usage are not even kept, what danger am I putting myself in? What consequences am I going to potentially physically suffer due to removing my seat belt while traveling at such limited speeds? You see this law is also open to interpretation and in reality the law becomes irrelevant and obsolete when applying it provides no better safety, security, or well being and peace than not applying it. You tell me what advantage there was in applying the law? That is where officer sympathy and understanding, rationality comes into play. I understand the quotas, the no tolerance mentalities, perhaps he was compensating for a slow day and seeking any violation he could find, however penalizing me for breaking what amounts to a law that becomes irrelevant in its PURPOSE given the circumstances, is beyond my rationality were I to be in his position. Where would you draw the line? I cannot make that determination and have no right to, but based on your arguments, should someone then receive a ticket literally at the foot of their driveway if, for example, they removed their seat belt a mere 2 seconds before entering their driveway? To most that would seem entirely foolish and I would guarantee a news crew out their to cover and provide attention to such a proposterous and unnecessary ticket. When was the last time you saw a death or injury on this street due to a seat belt violation in the last 25 years that I can remember. Sure there is a first time for everything, but it seems their services could be put to better use than to wait every 25 years for that occurrence to happen on this area of Wheatfields least traveled back roads.

So you see, I sought some understanding from the officer. It was well within his capabilities to have a little compassion. And let me emphasize that my displeasure had absolutely nothing to do with the monetary price of the ticket--it is merely pennies from my perspective, but instead, it was more principle. How can I possess a faith in and cooperation with officers who consider the law to not include rational exceptions? It is officers with this mentality who are the most dangerous and apply a book and classroom to every situation, rather than realizing that every situation they encounter is unique and has it own set of circumstances to evaluate. In addition, they are patrolling areas that fail to make us any safer on the roads, but instead patrol areas where they can dispense the most tickets...and thats exactly what it is comparable to, a dispensing candy machine. Why dont they patrol the dangerous section of Niagara Falls Blvd in Wheatfield that has yet to be upgraded? Why dont they run radar on side streets where there are those kids wandering around that we all care about as you made mention of? Instead they sit on each end of Wheatfield as if no one entering into or exiting Wheatfield will get by them. County and town police would be perfectly fine, but if state troopers set up shop in Niagara Falls and North Tonawanda, not only could they issue numerous traffic tickets, but truly make us all much safer by apprehending the many more citizens with warrants, the much greater amounts of drugs and illegal substances that frequent those areas. Sure Wheatfield has its fair share as well, just look at JT Wheatfields, but troopers themselves are not doing much more of a service here in Wheatfield than issuing tickets. Kill two birds with one stone and clean up the surrounding towns please.

And finally, its obvious that running radar does not make any section of town any safer. If it did they would be issuing less and less tickets until everyone complied with traffic laws. That is not the case and for numerous months they have been pulling over drivers at close to the same frequency from what I have seen. It probably then makes perfect sense as to why they patrol certain areas and not others--again, its about the money, not so much about the safety. So the point I am making is that you can have police up and down the street you live on sir, but there will always be new, dangerous, unaware drivers, frequenting your street and violating traffic laws, no matter how many tickets are given out or how high the police presence. It does little to give the children a higher level of safety and protection--you can clean up crime but you cant clean up speeding. What is even more upsetting is that he was about to consider providing me permission to be on my way, but just couldnt bring himself to believe my reiteration that I was wearing my seatbelt up to just before the point of violation. If he doesnt trust me, how can I begin to offer my trust to him. They would have more respect if the respect were mutual.

Secondly, I agree wholeheartedly that police presence is somewhat a deterent to crime and traffic violations being committed; however, I dispute the need for such a heavy state trooper, govt funded and supported presence in Wheatfield, NY. In reality, the seatbelt law is a federal govt law instated by the states who are threatened by the govt to withdraw highway funding and benefits, amongst other perks, if the states dont stand up and follow suit according to what the federal govt would like to mandate to the states, but could not get away with. The federal govt cannot mandate seatbelt laws directly so they give incentives to the states to do it for them. If you see many of the same laws across most states its usually on account of the govts upper hand on the states and financial power over them. So you see, we are dollar figures. You are naive to believe NYS govt seat belt and speeding laws are in place because you are cared for--you are a dollar figure, a statistic and it all ties together, for the better the statistics the greater the dollar figure and reward. Every state similar to NY likes a good pat on the back from the federal govt. A perfect example is a sensible law considered by states to outlaw text messaging with cell phones while operating a vehicle. Great, get the state going on that and put it into immediate action. Yet, its the federal govt trying to mandate such a law over every state and every citizen, while Senator Chuck Schumer, threatens to cut off 25% of NYS highway funding if his state fails to sign on to this federally proposed law. I understand this is way off course, but do you want the federal govt telling you what to do in Wheatfield NY? If so, I am tempted to laugh hysterically due to your lack of understanding of those implications, but I am more inclined to feel sorry for you for agreeing with such government intervention. Again I will make mention of Thomas Jefferson who was entirely supportive of state rights and its individual destiny. "A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have." I suggest you take some time and read up on the history between state and federal govt to attain a more complete comprehension of the matter. Its not about the law being inappropriate, it never is and in fact the federal govt often has terrific ideas and policies in theory, but you do not want the highest level of govt dictating to citizens and town govts on the smallest level, what to do and how to live and what to abide by--that is best left to state and county govts. If they cared about you they would inconvenience us by making us wear helmets while driving--this would seriously cut down on deaths due to head injuries--just dont give the "we know best" federal govt any ideas.

In response to your comment that "most accidents happen close to home"....well I had a strong feeling someone would raise that argument...and from the moment I heard that statistic years previously, I immediately realized the obvious, that most people are involved in accidents close to home, considered within 10 miles, because THAT IS THE DISTANCE THAT MOST PEOPLE TYPICALLY TRAVEL FROM THEIR HOMES. A circumference of the distance 10 miles surrounding your residence is ALWAYS traveled whether you are coming or going...you spend most of your time driving within these distances, which is obviously why most accidents occur close to one's home. That is a very misleading statistic shared to make people believe that its more dangerous to drive around their homes than most other places. Not true. If people spend 90% of the time driving within 10 miles of their homes, its obvious that accidents within this proximity are going to be escalated.

In response to your comment about the slow speed at which I was traveling while removing my seat belt...consider the fact that coming West onto Kreuger rd, there is a stop sign at nearly every block which prevents excessive speeding for most casual drivers...it is only after Dimatteo Court heading West that speeding becomes the real issue. But if youd like Ill pick the speed up a bit and start whipping right through those stops signs--I mean, just so you arent the one that ends up "rear-ending" me as you say.

When the police tail aggressively tailgate you and follow you on your way to work during the middle of the night until you leave their town, when an officer pulls you over for no reason at all other than asking if he can search your vehicle as you are on your way home from work, and then allows you to leave without even searching the vehicle or issuing a ticket, when you are crossing the border and no less than 8 border patrol agents surround your vehicle with hands on their weapons ordering you out of the vehicle and apprehending you due to incorrect information, you come back to me and tell me if you still have the same blind and die-hard support for our prestigious law enforcement. Certainly we need them, but by no means are they deserving of my trust and admiration. Hopefully you have been enlightened and this post is not the "dumbest" you have yet seen.

Dear Neighbors Of Sloan, It Has Abruptly Come To My Attention That There Are Several Low-life Thieves That Have Decided To Visit Our Village On A Regular Basis. They're Visiting At All Times Of The Day, But Mainly In The Middle Of The Night. They Are Going House-to-house, Sneaking Through Yards, Looking For Anything They Can Get Their Hands On. Please Be Sure That All Of Your Things Are Accounted For. Unfortunately, Many Of Us Don't Realize Something Is Missing Until We Need It. If You Notice That Something Is Missing, Report It To The Police. They Have Already Been Notified Of Several Incidences And We've Been Told They Are Also Keeping A Closer Eye On The Village. In The Meantime, Keep Everything Locked! Be Aware Of Any Unfamiliar Cars Or People. If Something Looks Suspicious, It Probably Is! Call The Police So We Can Help Nail These Scumbags. Maybe They Can Eventually Get A Job And Earn The Things They Own, Just Like The Rest Of Us!

    Where Are The Parents?
I Live In Cheektowaga In The Ceil/trudy Area And Have Had It Up To My Eyeballs With The Kids In This Neighborhood That Think The Streets And Our Homes Are Their Playground. I've Politely Asked These Kids Over And Over To Move Their Games To Their Own Yards Or The Street In Front Of Their Own Houses Instead Of Mine. I've Had My Car Hit While Parked In My Driveway During Street Hockey Games, Had To Ask Them To Clean Up Bottles They Break In The Street, And Break Up Wrestling Matches On My Front Lawn. Incidentally The Wrestling Match Happened To Take Place Hours After My Lawn Had Been Chemically Treated. Call Me Crazy But Despite How Safe These Chemicals Are Supposed To Be, Rolling Around In Them Doesn't Seem Like A Good Idea. They Don't Yield For Cars And I've Seen People Have To Sit And Wait For Hockey Nets To Be Moved Before Drivers Can Pass Through. After Enough Was Enough And Repeated Requests, Yes, I Called The Cheektowaga Police. An Officer Came Out, Spoke To Me And Then The Kids. After Speaking To The Kids The Officer Came Back And Told Me The Kids Had Even Given Him A Hard Time! As Soon As The Officer Left One Responsible Father Emerged And Decided The Solution Was To Yell Out To The Whole Neighborhood That The Way To Fix Me Was To Have The All The Kids Start Playing Hockey On The Sidewalk In Front Of My House Instead Of The Street. Well That Threat Was Never Carried Out But Many Months Later Nothing Has Changed, Nor Have I Ever Seen Him Again. By The Way, I'm Curious As To Whether Any Of The "concerned Parents" In This Neighborhood Have A Clue As To The Language Coming Out Of The Mouths Of These Kids? Respect Obviously Starts At Home And Maybe You Don't Care, But There Are Those Of Us That Shouldn't Have To Listen To It. There Are Young Children In This Neighborhood Too And I Know Those Parents Don't Appreciate It Either. Tonight I Had The Pleasure Of Hearing Some Very Colorful Rhetoric Coming Out Of Their Mouths Because It Was After Dark And The Cars Coming Down The Street Were Interrupting Their Football Game. Kids Are Not Supposed To Play In The Street-it's Dangerous And Also Illegal. Sure, The Cheektowaga Police Have Better Things To Do With Their Time. Since You Have No Intention Of Obeying The Law, It Would Seem The Least You Could Do Would Be To Invest A Small Amount Of Yours Into Teaching These Kids To Have A Little Respect For The Rest Of Us That Live In This Neighborhood. I Get It That Parents Need A Break And Kids Should Get Out And Play, But Maybe It Should Be On Your Turf With The Privilege Of The Vocabulary Lessons Also Being Yours!

    Reductions In Budget; Never Happen

You Know They Give Town Employees A Bonus For Working At A Taxpayer Funded Job And Taxpayer Funded Benefit Package For Another Year. Last Year $143,000 Was Allocated For Longevity Pay. It’s Just Ridiculous In These Overtaxed Economic Times To Reward People For Being Employed With The Town. It All Starts At The Top. Supervisor Giza Needed To “lead By Example”. If Before Contract Negotiations, The Supervisor Would Have Indicated That He Would Not Include A Raise For Himself And The Board Members In The 2010 Budget And Not Take The Healthcare Stipend, Maybe His Employees Would Have Given Something Back. Who Would Be Willing To Give Back To A Boss Who Himself Just Takes, Takes And Takes?

I Thought Youth Sports Were For The Youth. I Have Come To Find That It's All About The Parents And Coaches, and Everyone Thinks They Are In Charge. I Had Involvement In The North Cheektowaga Youth League, and Found It Very Fustrating. The Children Are Not Treated As If They Count For Anything. They Are Told What To Do By Coaches.parents, teachers All Day Long. They Are Not Encouraged The Way They Are Supposed To Be In The Youth Program. I Thought This Was Supposed To Be "fun". Boy Was I Wrong,i See To Many Disagreements That Go On In Front Of The Children And They Are The Ones That Get Hurt. It's True You Get What You Pay For, Don't Expect A Lot If You Aren't Willing To Dish Out A Boat Load Of Money. They Are All Voulenter, and Most Of The Time It Shows. They May Take Pride In The Fact They Are Doing Something In The Community, and For The Kids. But They All Have A Lot To Learn About This Being For The Kids And Noit Their Egos. Working Together For The Good Of The Kids And Not To Make Them Look Like Big Shots When They Can't Get Along. I Would Never Want My Child To Participate In The North Cheektowaga Youth Program, and I Would Recommend That You Take Your Child Elsewhere, for Their Sakes.

    Mr.
So Let Me Get This Straight. The Governor Of New York, Because Of Admitted Fear, Is Not Going To Continue The Process Of Taxing Products Sold On The Reservations Throughout Ny State. Each And Every Time A Non-indian Purchases Tobacco Products And Fuel On A Reservation, They Are Engaging In Tax Evasion. I Know That Sounds Harsh, But That Is What Is Going On. Every Other Citizen Is Forced Into Paying More Than His Or Her Fair Share Because Of The Countless Friends And Neighbors Who Refuse To Pay Theirs. Enough Is Enough! I Have Read Most Of The Treaties In Regards To Taxing The Nation. Nowhere Does It State They Have A Free Ride And Can Do Whatever They Want. The Leaders Of This State Do Not Want To Tax The Native Americans Who Make Their Home Here, Our Elected Officials Only Want Those Non-indians To Pay Their Share. To Listen To The Governors’ Aides Saying That Governor Patterson Is Not Going To Continue With This Is Nothing More Than An Insult To All Of Us. He Is More Than Willing To Go After Soft And Easy Targets, But Is Not Confident Enough To Make Difficult Decisions Or Fight The Tough Fight. The Only Lesson That I Can Learn From This Is Simple, When We Do Not Like What The Governor Or The Legislative Calls For, We Only Need To Threaten Violence And They Will Back Down. What Ever Happen To The Days When Our Elected Officials Had Backbones? Thank You

Obama Lied, And Grandma Will Not Recieve The Care She Needs
First Off, I Want To Thank The Commentor Who Said To Watch Fox News As They Report So Much More Then The Other Stations On Whats Going In In The Government Espercially This Healthcare Reform Stuff. On Glenn Beck He Reported A Cnn Poll That Showed Young Voters In America 2 To 1 Approve Of Obama Care While As Age Rises The Seniors Oppose Obama Care 2 To 1. The Young Are All For "free Health Care", But As We All Know Nothing Is Really Free. Also Reported On Glenn Beck, In The Hr#@)) Bill There Is An Incentive Not To Treat Those That Are The Sickest Among Us.those People By Statistics Tend To Be Our Senoir Citizens. So Basically Obama Lied Gramdma Dies!. Now On Sept 29th A Florida Representative Gave A Speach Saying Republicans Plan Is To "let You Die" If You Get Sick. That Is Farther From The Truth. Well, Robert Reich Who Is An Obama Advisor And Helped Write The Healthcare Reform Bill Said In A Speach " If You Are Very Old We Are Not Going To Give You All The Technology And Drugs For The Last Few Years Of Your Life So We're Gonna Have To Let You Die." After That And This Stunned Me I Heard The Audiance Appluad And Cheer. Who Was Reich Speaking To? Would You Believe A Group Of College Students. Sarah Palin Was Telling The Truth With "death Panels" And Obama Lied To Our Faces When He Gave His Speach About Healthcare Reform On National Tv. Wake Up America Before Its Too Late.

Sean Hannity,Greta Van Sustran,Bill O'Reilly and Glen Beck report the facts from both sides and have the documentation to back up what they report. If you want to know whats going on with this so called healthcare reform you need to watch Fox News on channel 32. i remember President Obama promised that he would have the healthcare reform debates on C-SPAN for all to watch, yet i watch C-SPAN and low and behold NOTHING!Another campaign promise broken.instead the bill is being written in a locked room by a handful of democrats with no other imput from anyone. Boy did I get suckered in when I voted for this so called "change we can believe in". It went from that to "change I can't believe".

None Other Than Joesph W. Keefe. He Owed The Irs $247,782 But Only Had To Pay Them $38,500 In A Settlement Deal. Well, Isn't That Sweet? Mandate Insurance Tier For " Employee Plus One Other" Be Offered, Rather Than "family"
I Find It Very Unfair That If You Only Have A Two Person Houshold That You Are Required To Be Covered By Your Health Insurance Under The "family Coverage" Plan, Which Covers Families With An Unlimited Number Of Children. I Looked Into This, And Was Told By The Insurers That They Do Have A Tier For "employee Plus One Other", Which Would Cover A Spouse Or A Single Parent Plus One Minor Child, At A Premium Comparable To Two Singles, Which Is Considerably Less Than The Family Rate By One-third Or More. They Said That The Employer Would Have To Offer This Tier Option, But When The Employers Checked Into This Coverage, They Found That If They Offered That Tier, It Would Increase The Family Rate Drastically, So They Just Continued To Offer Only Single And Family. Those Of Us In Our Little Two-person's Households, Which Includes Parents Whose Adult Children Are No Longer Covered By Their Insurance And Those Who Are Childless, Must Pay For Other People's Children's Coverage. This Seems Grossly Unfair To Me, And Discriminatory. I Would Like To See It Mandated By The Senate And Congress That This Tier Be Offered By All Health Insurance Companies And Employers At A Premium Comparable To Two Singles, And That The Insurers Not Be Allowed To Inflate The Family Rate When Employers Include This Third Option. This Should Also Extend To Retirees To Cover "self Plus Spouse". I Urge Anyone Who Might Be Affected By This To Email Our Senators And Congressmen And The President Too--i Have! __________________________________________________________________

Just insure yourself as a "single", and your husband as well. We have 2 policies in my house and it's cheaper than a family coverage. I even had the carrier bill me for both, so we still get only one bill.

Employee plus one other tier health insurance. - Commented by: Shirley on: 2009-10-25
To Jim, When an employee gets insurance trough his employer, you cannot get 2 singles if the spouse is not employed by the company. You must take the Family coverage. I have also heard from numerous people that when they tried to get a single coverage for each a husband and wife, they were told they must take the family coverage if they are married. Sounds like your two singles are from the same insurance company, and it is not a situation where it is through your employer? A retired person wrote in some place one time that he was forced to take the family coverage, rather than 2 singles for him and his wife. He felt there should be a tier for \"self and spouse\", and I totally agree. I am glad you are able to get fair insurance, rather than being ripped off as so many of us are.

First off New York state has and is basically a DEMOCRATS dream. From the governor on down to the town and village level most of the people elected are DEMOCRATS. Now look at the mess New York state is in. We are the second highest state as far as taxes and we are buried in debt. Kinda sounds like whats going on in the white house.Higher taxes are on the way to pay for another DEMOCRATS spending spree. Republicans aren't perefct either but they do have some good ideas that unfortunatley aren't being listened too.

    Cheektowaga Police
First Let Me Start By Saying, I Have The Up Most Respect For The Cheektowaga Police. I ‘am Grateful For All They Do In Our Community. But, Can Someone, Anyone Please Tell Me Why It Is Necessary That Every Car Going To A Call Drives 80 To 100 Miles Per Hour Getting There, Most Of The Time With No Siren. It Is Only A Matter Of Time; One Of Them Will Hit A Vehicle I Can Only Pray There Are Not Children In It. Friday Night My Husband And I Were Sitting At The Light At Union And George Urban Going North. There Are Cars In Every Direction And The Light Was Green For Traffic Coming Out Of A Very Busy Coffee Shop. About 250 Yards Behind Me A Police Officer Decides It Would Be A Good Time To Put His Siren On While Passing Me On My Left Driving In The South Bound Lane But Going North. He Was Going At Least 75 To 80 Miles Per Hour Never Once Did He As Much As Tap His Breaks. No One Can Tell Me That Every Car Seen Him Coming, Because They Certainly Did Not Hear Him Until He Was On Top Of Them, He Came Out Of Nowhere. He Only Turned On The Siren At The Very Last Minute, Which Seems To Be The Norm For All Of Them. Where Was He Going? He Was Going To The Bingo Parking Lot Where There Was Already Three Other Police Cars, Emt's, And I Think The Fire Chief. I Am Sure Not One Of The Other Six Officers, Emt's, Or Fire Chief Had Any Control Over The Emergency At Hand. Only That Officer Doing 80 Getting There Was Going To Be Able To Get Things Under Control. Yes, I Do Want The Police To Get To Me Asap If I Am In Need Of Them. Just An Idea Maybe They Can Use The Sirens, And Slow Down If There Is Already Half Of The Police Force At The Call, For A Kitten In The Tree. If They Do Not, They Will Kill Someone, Let’s Hope It Is Not You Me Or One Of Our Family Members.

I agree. Excessive speed is dangerous. Your ability to judge speed I question, but I agree. On the "no sirens" thing. Sometimes cops want to have the sirens off so the bad guy cant hear them coming. Was that going on here? Dunno. But just because you see a cop with the lights on but no siren isnt necessarily proof he is doing something wrong.

    - Commented by: Maryp on: 2009-10-10
Firstly, if he was 250 yards behind you, I don't think that is turning them on last minute. Secondly, yes at times the Police need to have their sirens off for certain calls. Now, you do not know what they were responding to, only where. So your comment about responding like that for a kitten in a tree is unnecessary. I see fire trucks and EMTs drive the same way. People just need to pay attention for emergency vehicles at all times. I work in Cheektowaga and my job requires me to call the Police at least weekly. I am so appreciative of their quick response time. When I need them there, they are there and in numbers. They get the situation under control and then only ONE Police Officer will stay behind. And depending on what the situation is, they don't always have their sirens on. When I am just filing a report, they slow down and show up in usually 15 minutes. So don't assume that just because where he was responding to wasn't an emergency.

Speeding - Commented by: Mati on: 2009-10-22
I agree, I was on Union Rd. when out of nowhere comes a Cheektowaga patrol car, who came deadly close to causing a serious accident due to his speeding. No siren, no warning, just flew, at warp speed past everyone. At first I thought it was just avoid the red light ( the fact is, a lot of officers hate those pesky red lights) not this time, this officer went into the Galleria Mall, Best Buy parking lot to be exact, were several other patrol cars had already beat him to the scene of the crime! Because the villain, a young thief was already being put into another patrol car. ;)
I respect the laws and and I try very hard to respect the officers that are suppose to uphold and abide by those laws, however, I've seen too many officers do the complete opposite, that goes for Depew and Lancaster officers as well.

The DR that wasn't supposed to be there, never showed up, was never scheduled by anyone associated with SSA, therefore ... my hearing will have to be rescheduled. How long do you think it will take them to reschedule this one??? Might I add ... since my first hearing (which was overturned due to numerous errors by the ALJ, including falsifying info) my case had been LOST 5 times by the SSA. My list of diagnosises consist of DDD (Cervical & Lumbar) with Disc Herniations (plural) and Sciatic Nerve Root Impingement, Fibromyalgia, Severe Depression, Scar Tissue binding up my Intestines & bladder, BiLateral Carpal Tunnel, Lateral Epicondyle, Endometriosis, PCOS and Migraines. Social Security Denials - Commented by: Ethel on: 2009-10-29
Like you I have been put to the test of surviving not just poverty but disrespect and idignity called humiliation by our insurance company the SS Adm. Maybe unlike you I am a advocate for the rights of the disabled, and for benefits, work, and housing for the disabled. As a Human Rights Advocate I have summed the so called "stonewalling" of claims for SS disability Insurance as a human rights violation for we are denied due process of law. I hope you understand this terrible experiance affects 311,000 disabled Americans a year. This has been going on for 15 years. More that four million people have endured what you endure. And now I a handicapped individueal finds herself disabled and joins personnally this battle I have fought for 15 years. I stand firm that as a disabled person SS Adm will give me respect, will obey the ADA, and will give every disabled American due process of law when making claim for disability benefits.

Simply stated anyone making claim for SS Disability is denied due process of law as SS Adm accepts fraudelent data in finding claim decisions, fails to obey the black and white of ADA, of Social Sec Law, and fails to use the Older Americans Act.

In these fifteen years of advocating for lawful behaviors on the part of the Social Security Administration I have won, yet been again pushed back to that time when disabled Americans were useless fools. I will not go back. I have won at the FTC ruling that Social Security Adm must obey insurance regulations, Social Security Law, Medicare Law, in finding claims decisions. Yet to date Social Security will not obey and somebody seems to have removed the teeth of the FTC and the bite of the OIG.

My suggestion, I urge you immediately to file a complaint at FTC.gov of "consumer fraud" done you by Social Security Adm in the finding of your claim decision for disability benefits. You paid for and should receive quality of service. To deny you the law, to deny your claim unlawfully denies you due process of law. But in denying you money for rent, food, subsistence and then to deny you Medicare. Well do you feel like I that we are so devalued as handicapped Americans that we can die without?

Urge your friends and family to file consumer complaints with the FTC regarding this.
Remeber the OIG has failed us in not making the SS Adm obey the law. Remember in regard to this issue Ms Palozzi and Joe Biden said "no problem". My sweet... you know what.

I must as an advocate, who disabled is just now able to again give some strength to this issue again that we must organize. We are more that a half a million people injured by our government unable to respect the rights of the disabled. Unable to act lawfully.

We do not have a good day and our lives shortned by disease, injury, age, and existing disabilities should not be cut the shorter so much sooner. Let us find dignity, let us use respect, let our anger be rational, specific, and winning. A handicapped American I am not going back if we must role over the badge of the OIG. Charge up your scooter batteries.

And write letters to your Senators and congressmen for assistance in putting the teeth back in the FTC and ask what is the OIG biting a big hunk of mine?

I Mean I Could Tell You More About What They Talked About But It Was Silly And Rude. The Two Young Men Sitting Next To Them Kept Telling Them To Be Quite Throughout The Entire Bingo Session And They Kept Right On Going As Well As Others Asking Them To Shut Up. The Caller Named "ruthie" Even Said "good Night" To One Of The Rude People Named "cheryl". Someone Even Tried To Complain Afterwords But Was Told These 4 People Talk All The Time And If They Dont Like It To Sit Someplace Else. Well I Will Be Sitting Someplace Else Spending My Money Someplace Else At Another Bingo Hall Where People Are Considerate And The Workers Actually Do There Job And Ask Rude People To Shut Up Not Stick Up For Friends.

FENCES - Commented by: Tom on: 2009-10-18
I've lived on Lucy Lane for almost 15 years. My neighbor was the best neighbor anyone could ask for. Unfortunately Art passed away and his children sold his house to a young couple. I had a grape vine that was growing on my fence on my property for almost 15 years. When Art was alive he knew he could pick grapes from our grape vine and he would let us pick lilacs from his bush. Well my new neighbors without asking me last November 7th cut down my grape vine when we were not home. When I asked why they did it they said "it bothered them." They never apoligized or offered to replace the grape vine. On another weekend they decided to remodel there bathroom from 2am till the police arrived at 4am. Pounding and cutting lumber with power tools in there garage which is next to our bedroom. They still didn't get it after the police arrived and did it again the next night. My new neighbors have 2 or 3 dogs that they would walk on my front lawn. Not once did they ever clean up the dog mess. They would never listen when told to stay off our lawn. Also they are very rude and allow there dogs to stay outside for hours and just bark. Luckily the stockade fence and A/C unit buffers the noise but I feel sorry for my neighbors who have to open there windows in the summer on a sunday morning and listen to the barking dogs.In the winter my new neighbor built a snowman and climbed my chain link fence and cut branches off of my appletree in the back yard to use as arms for the snowman. We have a utility pole behind our fence in the backyard and we had a chainlink fence to block the space, well you guessed it my neighbor removed my chainlink fence without asking me.So we put up a six foot stockade fence in our backyard and a 3 foot stockade fence in our front yard. We have two other homes, one in Depew and one in Lancaster that we rent out. Our neighbors by those two homes are wonderful. I guess two out of three aint bad but nothing that a stockade fence didn't take care of in Cheektowaga or small claims court for all the damage my new neighbor did.

So I Was Driving Down Losson Rd. In Cheektowaga This Morning And Adhering To The 35 Mph Speed Limit, When Suddenly I Look In My Rear View Mirror And There's A Woman Tailgating Me. As We Continued Down The Road We Come Across A Cheektowaga Police Officer Who Was Pulled Over Onto The Shoulder On The Opposite Side Of The Road. As We Pass Him, He Puts His Squad Car Into Gear, Makes A U-turn, And He Is Now Behind The Two Of Us. All The While This Woman Is Still Tailgating Me. Does He Pull Her Over? No. When We Get To Union Rd., She Makes A Left Turn And He Makes A Right Turn. Cheektowaga's Finest Right There, What Are We Paying These Officers For? He Probably Needed To Get To Tim Hortons For His Free Coffee.

On a scanner perhaps, well listen you talk about this guy whining, you wouldn't believe what the police station gets overly excited about, they think they rule the earth, they arrest alot more people for alot less than tailgating, untill you live in this town, and pay these outrageous taxes than call someone a "whiner".Take a day, sit in the towns court, I have seen elderly people in there for the same reason tailgating, the law is the law, READ your drivers manual, Stop one -Stop them all.

    - Commented by: Whatever on: 2009-10-07
Cheryl. You are clueless. First off you dont get "arrested" for tailgating. You get a ticket. Second "stop one-stop all" are you out of your mind or just stupid? There are not enough cops in WNY to stop every driver that is violating the traffic law in Cheektowaga. Cops dont "have to" stop anybody for routine traffic infractions anyway. If they did that would ALL be writing tickets for cell phones and seat-belts ALL day long. Then people like YOU would be complaining about them having "someting better to do".

    Go buy a clue.

    - Commented by: Steve on: 2009-10-17
Even worse is when they tailgate YOU to try to intimidate you or run your plates to \"check on you\"--then when you hit the next town they aggressively make a you turn back the other way--making you feel like they are running you out of the town they are policing--making you feel like they are warning you by tracking you down and tailing you--I dont need any warnings--go fight some real crime for a change.

This Country Is Completely Out Of Control!!! A 79 Million Dollar Rocket Is Insane. We Dont Need To Spend Our Money On The Moon When The Earth Is In Shambles. The Moon Has Been There Since The Begining Of Time, Its Fine Leave It Alone. The Plant Is Where We Need 79 Million Dollars. Do They Realize How Much Could Have Got Done With That Much Money? For Example: Feeding Homeless People In Our Country, Health Care, Hurt Or Disabled Vets (which By The Way Is The Most Important), Schools, Helping More People Keep Their Families Warm This Winter, I Mean The Lists Goes On And On. Who Cares If The Moon Has Water Or Whatever They Are Looking For As Long As Its Bright And Beautiful. The Wasted Money Is Just Plain Stupid. We Should Be In An Uproar Over This Wasted Money.stop Shooting Rockets Into Things That Dont Need It. Ridiculous!!!!!!
