Town of Hamburg Police have charged Joseph Bodhorn, 26, of Parker Road, Hamburg with five felony drug charges including possession of lab equipment and precursors with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine.

According to Hamburg police, they developed information through a narcotics investigation that Bodhorn had psilocybin mushrooms and illegal prescription pills at the 4647 Parker Road home.

During the investigation, police became aware of the possibility that there may be precursors for "meth" in the residence.

On Tuesday, Sept. 7 Town of Hamburg Police and New York State Police Special Operations Response Team (who were called to the scene due to the combustible nature of the meth production)  spent much of the afternoon at the home.

According to Town of Police Capt. Kevin Trask, upon entry to the residence, ephedrine, muriatic acid and potassium iodide, all precursors for the manufacture of meth, as well as beakers, glass vials and piping were discovered.
Village of Blasdell Police contributed to the investigation.

Bohorn was also charged with the possession of the mushrooms, hypodermic instruments and drug paraphernalia.

He was arraigned by Hamburg Town Justice Walter Rooth and remanded into custody pending $25,000 bail.
