Skateland offers fun for the entire family

Looking for something fun to do this summer. Skateland Family Fun Center is offering a wide variety of activities for children, adults and teens.

Skateland, located at 1109 Lincoln Ave., first opened in the area in 1985. Since then, the multipurpose activity center has been offering something fun for everyone in the Lockport community.

Skateland has the mission to be dedicated to supporting the Lockport community by providing a safe and fun entertainment facility through customer service, work ethic and supportive relationships with their neighbors and community.

Marketing Director Greg Johnston said during the summer months they would be offering a different deal each day.

“We’re always trying to bring in new things,” he said. “We offer the most to customers for a little price.”

Skateland has a roller-skating rink — where people can rent or bring their own skates — a bounce house, laser storm, an arcade and ticket redemption center and a 18-hole mini golf course. There is also a snack bar that offers various snack and dinner items.

Johnston said laser storm is one of their most popular attractions at Skateland. He said younger children — 2 to 8 — really enjoy the bounce houses and pre-teens like Friday and Saturday nights.

During the summer, there is a summer session from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day. People can also purchase a fun day pass that allows unlimited laser tag and mini golf, a skate rental, bounce house use and 20 tokens for $19.95.

Johnston said Skateland likes to hold various events throughout the week to attract a wide variety of customers. On Monday’s, he said they hold a Christian music nights from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday’s feature pre-school playtime from 10 a.m. to noon. There is also bargain night Wednesday and all you can play Thursday.

On Friday evenings, Skateland becomes The Land, a place for pre-teens to go from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. He said the night is designed for children 8 to 11 years old. Each Friday, Johnston said there is a different party theme, which is pre-teen friendly.

On Saturday, he said, is also designed for pre-teens from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Sunday features a family atmosphere with grilling out from noon to 5 p.m. There are also mini golf specials and food specials at Skateland’s snack bar area.

In the future, Johnston said they hope to hold dances, and offer new DJ personalities.
