Value Vision: the family of people who care

Step into any one of Value Vision’s three locations, and you won’t believe your eyes.

The locally owned optical company, which has been operating out of Western New York for approximately 45 years, specializes in visual aids – each of the three offices boasting 1,000 different frames to choose from. Located at 154 French Road, 3035 Genesee St., and 2735 South Park Ave., Value Vision has all of your eyewear needs, from contact lenses to frames to package pricing.

And the best part? Prices are actually affordable; products are high quality; service is fast and friendly.

“Our motto is a ‘family of people that care,’ because we do,” said Terry Miller, manager at Value Vision, who has been with the company for 36 years.

Miller says that Value Vision recognizes the importance of keeping it local, which is why all of the company’s business is conducted locally. All fabrication of glasses is done in WNY, all opticians – as well as Value Vision’s optometrists – are NYS certified and members of IUE Local 408, and all employees are experts in the field of visual aid.

“We like to do business locally to keep the local economy strong,” Miller explained. “We have had the same employees here for at least 20 years. We really get to know our customers.”

And knowing the customers means knowing what suits them best, which is exactly what the opticians at Value Vision do. The employees know that each customer has their own individual needs, so they are more than happy to discuss and demonstrate each type of lens, along with any other questions or concerns. Also, optometrists do eye exams on-site by appointment, making the Value Vision experience always convenient.

Dress glasses, safety eyewear, contact lenses, and sports glasses are just some of the products offered. All frames are marked at the same inexpensive price of $55, making selections easier for customers.

Package pricing – which includes clear plastic lenses – is also available, making Value Vision very conducive to the several different insurances accepted. Package pricing includes clear plastic lenses. The normal price for single vision glasses is $76; $96 for bifocals; and $181 for invisible bifocals/progressive lenses. Coupons are offered through the LocalEdge Phone Book and special pricing is available for safety glasses for companies that contract with Value Vision.

Other offerings include a selection of eyeglass lenses (plastic, thinner lenses, lenses that darken in the sun, polycarbonate lenses, and glass); several lens designs (single vision, aspheric, flat top bifocals, trifocals, progressives, sports glasses, computer glasses, polarized sun lenses, and special designs to meet customers’ specific occupational requirements); optional lens treatments (scratch protection coating, UV protection, and anti-reflection coatings); and much more – everything tailored exactly to meet customers’ specific visual needs.

At Value Vision, it’s all about the customer, which is the way it should be because, as manager Terry Miller emphasized, everybody has a different case and their own necessities. And for Miller and her coworkers, that is what keeps the job interesting day in and day out.

“I like people, I like fashion, and there’s medical involved, so there’s all those three aspects are exciting for me,” she ended. “It makes the job interesting. Everyday is different; I love meeting new people all the time.”
