NORTH TONAWANDA - Choosing to launch a business after learning of his brother’s passion for cooking, Thomas Daniels headed into business, with brother James Daniels, in 1992 - as the owners of Submasters.
The Daniels brothers kicked off their new business in Niagara Falls and later franchised the sub shop in other locations throughout New York, North Carolina and Texas.
After years of searching for a place where he and his business could call home, Thomas has found a home in North Tonawanda.
“The people are great, and the location is great, I’d like to retire here,” said Thomas.
After three years in North Tonawanda, Thomas couldn’t be happier with the direction business is heading in.
“We continue to grow here,” said Thomas.
Thomas has invested time and money into the North Tonawanda location in order to make sure both his customers and himself feel comfortable while stopping in for a bite to eat.
“I am a hands-on owner. I wanted to make it nice here and I want my customers to not only feel comfortable, but to choose to come back,” said Thomas.
On top of offering a well-known submarine for a reasonable price, Submasters also offers pizza, wings and dinner meals - including homemade lasagna.
“We have a lot of choices on our menu, but we mostly specialize in subs,” said Thomas.
Standing behind the quality of their product, Thomas noted all items served on the menu at Submasters are guaranteed to be fresh.
“Everything is fresh, we don’t use any frozen products. Our sausage is fresh; our ham is fresh; I use Oven Brown turkey - it’s all top of the line.”
Running the establishment on his own hasn’t been easy, but Thomas is dedicated to his work and his customers.
“I want the food to taste great for our customers,” said Thomas. “This is he kind of place where people who come in from out of town head back to just to taste the food again,” said Thomas.
In addition to great tasting food, Thomas has paid close attention to the cost of living these days and the cost of food.
He has tried to keep prices competitive and reasonable for individual customers and families.
Currently, Submasters is offering a “Buy three subs, get one sub free,” deal, which is great for a family of four.
For those families with a few more members in their household, a “Two large subs, with a half tray of pizza, 20 wings and a soda,” deal is being offered for a very reasonable price.
The location offers a dine-in option with air conditioning and a clean atmosphere, as well as, the option for take-out or delivery. Catering is also available in both small and large quantities of groups or parties.
Submasters, located at 105 Main St., North Tonawanda, is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays.
