LANCASTER- “Buying a car is the second most major purchase people will ever make in their lives,” remarked Transitowne USA Resale of Depew, General Manager Steven Goldstein.

Also, many people who walk through the doors of any car dealership tend to have their guard up and to overcome that, Goldstein said they try to build a rapport with the customer to make them feel comfortable.

“Car salesmen have gotten a stigma a long time ago from the old days,” commented Goldstein. “It is not like that anymore. Close to 68 percent of business that we do here is repeat and referral.”

Goldstein added that the niche at Transitowne USA Resale of Depew is that the pre-owned vehicles are priced between $8,000 and $16,000.

“We are one of four stand alone resale centers in the Transitowne organization,” said Goldstein.

There are a total of nine Transitowne dealerships in Western New York.

The cars that are resold usually are purchased from auctions or are trade-ins. All the vehicles go through a 151 point inspection for mechanics and appearance.

“All the components are brought back to like new condition,” said Goldstein. “We stand by our vehicles. They are fully detailed, full tank of gas, and we offer free oil changes for life with every vehicle purchase.”

Transitowne USA offers an “ultimate advantage package” for every vehicle. It includes the free oil changes for as long as you own the vehicle, a 48 hour exchange policy, and if a lower price is found on the same vehicle with the same benefits, options and rebates within 48 hours, the customer will be refunded 100 percent of the difference. Goldstein noted that the difficulty level to sell a pre-owned vehicle isn’t any harder than to sell a new vehicle, but did say it is more difficult to buy a pre-owned vehicle, because there are so many choices.

“When you go and buy a new car, you know it is either going to be Chevy, Ford, Honda, or Toyota and when you get there, they’re going to have five of the same Accords and five of the same Civics and then you pick out the color you want, but when you’re buying a pre-owned vehicle, I have probably 30 different makes and models on the lot.”

In addition, Goldstein said they truly guarantee credit approval for the first time car buyer or for those whose credit isn’t so good. If someone is not approved, the car is free.

Transitowne USA Resale of Depew also has a full service and parts department that services all makes and models. They also sell and service Honda power equipment such as lawnmowers, snow blowers, pumps, and generators.

Being a part of the community since it first opened in October 2009, Goldstein said it is very important to them to help support the local community. They sponsor the Cheektowaga and Depew Hockey Police and Fire Hockey Club and donate to a lot of local charities.
