For the past year, owner Michael Lysiak of Cambria has been working to provide affordable Web services to business around the area.

While receiving his bachelors in business administration from Medaille College, Lysiak studied about small businesses.

“I discovered a lot of small businesses can’t afford a website because they are so expensive,” he said. “Search engine optimization services — what makes it visible online — are also extremely expensive. So I came up with my business model.”

Dominant Domains leases the website to a business for a minimal fee. The more customers they bring to their site, the more the business is charged.

“It is pay for performance,” said Lysiak. “That way, the small business can now afford it.”

All customers start at a $25 monthly fee. That fee gets them a website, domain name, a custom designed site and search engine optimization.

Over the first month, Lysiak said they build a template for the site, gather up all the information and find out what the customer wants their site to be.

In the second month, they work on more of the custom aspects of the site and by the third month, when they start to get more and more visitors to the site, the fee may start to increase, slowly.

Dominant Domains works one on one with their customers to make sure they design the type of website that highlights their business and is what they want.

They will create a site for any type of business, either a brochure informational style site or an ecommerce site to sell products online.

Dominant Domains services include website design, search engine optimization, search engine marketing, social media marketing and data base development.

“A lot of people now look online,” said Lysiak. “They don’t open up a phone book anymore. They open up their cell phone and search for what they want. If you have a website you are more likely to be found.”

Lysiak said the main benefit to Dominant Domains is they own everything, so they lease it to their customers and there is no contract to sign or upfront fee.
