ity low priced grocery items to the community is Save-A-Lot.
The store, which has been serving the Lockport area for five years, was recently remodeled, providing additional shelf space and a new look for customers to enjoy.
Save-A-Lot owner Kurt Fanaro said the store focuses on quality food, cleanliness and having the lowest prices in the area on key items.
To continue to meet those goals, the store has expanded and relocated the produce department to the front. The meat department has also been expanded, offering more room for additional products.
Fanaro said the entire store was painted, the floor was retiled and new décor was added. New energy efficient lighting will also soon be added throughout the store.
There are also all new shopping carts for customers to use.
“We put in a new case, anticipating we will soon be selling beer,” said Fanaro. “We also reset the store because we got in a lot of new products.”
Fanaro said customers have been pleased with the new look, commenting on the variety of products now available at the store.
He said where they differ from their direct competition is they carry a wide selection of name brand products, along with Save-A-Lot products. Their new low price program allows them to provide everyday low prices on all the products they carry.
Customer services is also a priority for Save-A-Lot.
“We take care of our customers,” said Fanaro. “There is always someone to help.”
Save-A-Lot also cuts meat fresh daily. They purchase a lot of their meat and produce products from local farmers, which helps to keep costs low and support the community.
Fanaro said this remodel has helped them “reinvest in their future in Lockport.”
In celebration of the remodel, Save-A-Lot will be holding a grand re-opening sale starting Feb. 10. This two-week sale will offer many specials on products, which are only on sale at the Lockport location.
Save-A-Lot, 5770 S. Transit Road, Lockport is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays.
The store accepts cash and all credit and debit cards.
