New to the neighborhood and offering competitive prices

After a successful 10 years of providing quality childcare service to the Lockport community, Owner of Sweet Angels Daycare and Preschool Kelly Huntington decided to branch out into another community, where she felt she could be of assistance.

In Sept. 2011, Huntington opened the daycare at 1307 Erie Ave., North Tonawanda, with the intent to run a family oriented establishment with emphasis on educational value, while serving family style food for lunch.

“We focus on the academics behind what a daycare is,” said Huntington. “We set the foundation for these children to begin schooling with. By the time they enter into the school age they know how to read; site words in English, Spanish and Sign Language; and they know their letters and colors.”

All 10 employees, including Huntington, have some type of child care background including CDA training (Child Development Certification), AED and MAT Certified Classrooms, schooling and their is a licensed nurse on staff. The building is also CPR Certified.

Huntington, a nurse, began her journey as a day care owner when she began to link together the two things she loves - her children and her job - and was able to produce an establishment where she felt she could provide a safe and secure environment for her children and other children to grow, play and learn.

Sweet Angels is accepting children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. They offer programs including, Excellent Kindergarten Readiness, Quality Nursery School, Before and After School, Summer Camp, Planned Daily Curriculum, Spanish and Sign language, Kinder Nutrition and Fitness, Gymnastics and Martial Arts, and Fun and Educational Field trips.

“We may be new here, but we aren’t new,” said Huntington. “We have a lot of experience and a lot to offer the community. We take pride in this and we’re here to provide quality care.”

Huntington noted one of her most important reasons for opening the facilities is wanted others to be able to go to work for the day and know their child is safe and comfortable.

Sweet Angels tries to be very involved in the community.

Huntington believes the day care would not be in business without the help of the community and it’s very important to give back.
