DeSantis Carpet offers quality flooring

For the past 45 years, DeSantis Carpet has been providing quality flooring to Western New York.

Owner Joe DeSantis began his business in the Kenmore/Tonawanda area 45 years ago. The business has since relocated to Lockport, where they have been for the past 37 years.

The store is family owned and operated and provides vinyl, tile and laminate floor sales, along with a large variety of carpets. DeSantis Carpet also offers quality installation in both residential and commercial properties.

DeSantis said in his showroom he carries more than 3,500 carpet samples for customers to choose from. He said they work to offer low prices for their customers.

For their carpet, they also offer package pricing. DeSantis said his customers like that because the price includes the carpet, pad and installation and there are no hidden fees.

DeSantis began installing flooring when he was 19 years old. He said he continued to do it for 28 years. During that time, he said he started noticing that more and more people would ask to purchase the actual flooring from him, which prompted him to open up his own store.

When he and his wife Barb moved to Lockport, the business soon followed.

He said though they are now located in Lockport they still install flooring throughout the Western New York area, especially in Amherst and Tonawanda.

For the past 31 years, DeSantis Carpet has been located at 175 S. Transit St., in Lockport.

“People definitely like the idea that we’re local and we run it all ourselves,” said DeSantis.

He said one of the biggest things customers like when they purchase from DeSantis Carpet, is they will work directly with him and Barb, the owners. Working one on one.

He said people are also amazed when they enter the store for the first time and see the size.

“They can’t believe it’s so large,” DeSantis said. “It’s much larger than it looks from the outside.”

DeSantis Carpet is currently open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and evenings by appointment.
