Buffalo Bill visits Ss. Peter and Paul School

Recently, Richard Campo, a sixth grader at Saints Peter and Paul School located at 5480 Main St. in Williamsville, woke up like any other day to a big breakfast prepared by his mother, but it wasn’t just an ordinary day.

Richard Campo, a sixth grader at Saints Peter and Paul School, won the NFL Take a Player to School contest in which he won the opportunity to take Paul Posluszny, a linebacker with the Buffalo Bills, to school with him.
At his breakfast table was Paul Posluszny, a linebacker with the Buffalo Bills.

Campo won the JCPenney Afterschool Fund NFL Take a Player to School contest. He entered his name and email online.

“It felt really good to win,” said Campo. “I was so happy.”

Posluszny picked Campo and his family up at his house in a limousine and took him to school where they were both welcomed.

Posluszny answered questions and conducted a physical education class with the kindergarten through eighth graders, which is around 324 students.

“Everyone should be getting 60 minutes of activity daily,” said Posluszny. “When I was growing up, my parents didn’t let my brothers and sisters and I play video games. We always had some activity to do though.”

This is the second year that Ss. Peter and Paul School has won the contest and the only school to do so. Brian Moorman, a punter with the Buffalo Bills, visited two years ago.

In addition to Posluszny’s visit, the school also received $2,000 from the JCPenney After School Fund.

“The $2,000 grant, along with the $8,600 student council funds will go toward a playground for the school,” announced Principal Marianne Maines during the assembly.
