Annual plow festival planned for May 6 in town of Collins

The 30th annual Collins Draft Horse, Ox and Pony Club Plow Festival will be held Sunday, May 6 at Route 62 and Wheater Road in Collins. The horses will be getting ready to plow beginning at 9 a.m. The event will end at 5 p.m.

There will be free parking, as well as a quilt raffle, bake sale, crafts, petting zoo, sheep herding, auction, log skidding contest, chicken barbecue, wagon rides, pony rides and more. Live music will be provided by Country Memories. A drawing for a homemade quilt will be held at 4 p.m.

The club is a non-profit organization with a stated goal of educating the public about draft horses and how they are used. Club members and kids from the youth program exhibit their horses at the Erie County Fair in the equine building.
