SPRINGVILLE — Assemblyman Kevin Smardz has announced that he will be hosting a car seat safety check in Springville, in conjunction with the New York State Police.

The safety check will be held on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Springville Fire Hall, located at 65 Franklin St., Springville.

“As the father of two boys, I can remember just how nerve-racking it was the first time we put my son in his car seat,” Smardz said.

“With the help from the troopers, I hope we can calm the nerves of young parents. I look forward to seeing all of the families who join us for the event,” he added.

Troopers will be on hand to ensure proper installation of car seats, as well as to provide safety tips for parents during the safety checks. Appointments are not necessary.

For more information on this event, contact Smardz’s district office at 826-1878 or visit www.assembly.state.ny.us/mem/Kevin-Smardz
