SPRINGVILLE — Virginia Krebs, Springville Concord Elder Network coordinator, announced that the Fall SCENe Speaker Series will begin Thursday, Sept. 27. Krebs acknowledged the efforts of SCENe Program Chair Jackie Shaw and said, “The line-up of speakers this year is outstanding. SCENe strives to offer dynamic speakers on a variety of subjects.”

Krebs explained that the series offers college-level learning in a group setting. “Speakers always leave time for questions and discussion,” she said.

“SCENe is able to offer it free to the public because of the willingness of the speakers to share their knowledge, assistance from the town, Healthy Community Alliance Inc. and the generosity of our supporters.”

All presentations will be held from 1 – 2 p.m. on select Thursdays in the Concord Town Hall auditorium on Franklin Street in Springville.

Scheduled speaker presentations are:

– Sept. 27: “Mafia: Organized Crime Syndicate” by Lee Coppola Esq., educator, journalist and federal prosecutor.

– Oct. 4: “ The War of 1812 Revealed,” by retired State University of New York at Buffalo Professor Jerry Spinley.

– Oct. 11: “A Magical Mystery Tour: A Quick Trip Through the Human Body,” by Erie Community College Biology Professor Paul Tenser.

– Oct. 25: “Clutterbusters,” by Anita Domes, professional organizer.

There is no cost to attend these programs, which are open to area seniors. For more information, call the SCENe resource line, at 592-7599.
