EAST OTTO Griffis Sculpture Park in East Otto will host Slyfest 7, featuring a live music festival, on Saturday, Sept. 8 from noon sunset.
Proceeds will benefit the Ashford Hollow Foundation and the Slyboots School of Music and Art.
Performances will include the SAAKUMU Dance Troupe of Ghana, West Africa, the Slyboots Circus feat, Family Funktion and the Sitar Jams, Peanut Brittle Satellite, Effective Resolution, Shapes of States, Stuart Fuchs, Andrew Moore and Larry LZ Dillon.
Slyfest is an annual fundraiser for the Slyboots School of Music and Art, located in downtown Buffalo. Work involves cultural arts education through music, dance and art. The schools stated goal is to expose students of all ages to musicians, dancers, performers and artists, to inspire creativity and foster respect for all humans.
Slyboots has a presence in elementary schools, high schools, colleges and universities across the country.
The school spends 6 months out of the year traveling with cultural performing groups from around the world.
For the first time since the inception of Slyfest, the SAAKUMU Dance Troupe will be in the country during the Slyfest season to teach workshops and kick off its sixth United States tour with Slyboots since 2008, with Slyfest 7.
