David J. Shenk Foundation grant applications available in Boston

BOSTON –– The David J. Shenk Foundation announced that applications for cash grants to not-for-profit town of Boston volunteer organizations are now available. To obtain an application, email a request to Secretary Liz Fadale at lfadale@realtyusa.com or send a written request to the David J. Shenk Foundation, P.O. Box 232, Boston, NY 14025. Applications must be returned by Friday, Aug. 24.

The foundation was established on July 6, 1993 to disburse monies to charitable and volunteer groups in the town of Boston. The foundation is funded by donations from Erie County Comptroller David Shenk.

Previous community groups who have been awarded grants include: the Boston Emergency Squad, Boston Patriots Little League football team, Boston Holiday Lighting Committee, Boston Turning Back the Clock, Boston Valley School Emergency Fund, Boston Valley Elementary School DI Team, Boston Kazoo Band, Boston Bear Cub Scouts, Boston Valley Girl Scouts, the Boston Historical Society, Boston Lions Club, Boston Meals on Wheels, Boston Senior Citizens, Boston Welcome Wagon, Boston Young at Heart Seniors, Boy Scouts of America Troop No. 491, Cub Scout Pack No. 391, Lake Effect Harmony Chorus, North Boston Fire Company and Patchin Fire Company.

The board of directors includes Shenk, Polly Shenk and Fadale.
