Bunnyfest to benefit Babcock area

Children visit the Choco-Loco Factory during a fundraiser for the Seneca Street Community Development Corporation.

SOUTH BUFFALO - The Bunnyfest excursion at the Choco-Logo Factory Shop on April 12 saw over 250 children visiting the Easter Bunny, enjoying face-painting and learning how various chocolate confections are made.

A fundraising effort to benefit the Seneca Street Community Development Corporation [SSCDC] the Choco-Logo employees explained to visiting children how to mix and mold chocolates into various shapes and candies.

Parents as well as children enjoyed the event.

“I came here last year for a different fundraiser and the children had a great time. I was watching the Choco-logo website to find another event this year,” stated Maria Zawilski, who was joined her children and friends, “It’s a great event for the kids at Easter time. The kids love to see the chocolate being made.”

Bronwen Battaglia, Art Director at Choco-Logo kept the tours flowing throughout the candy factory to make sure the children had sufficient time to enjoy each station set up throughout the factory.

“We’ve done several fundraisers here for various causes and we receive a great response. We sell out every year,” stated Battaglia, “It’s just a way that a small business can give back in a big way to the community.”

The fundraiser was greatly appreciated by Christi Severson, Grants Administrator at SSCDC.

“Our programs are underfunded so fundraisers like this make a big difference to our ability to bring forth programs for the children,” admitted Severson.
