The Buffalo Blues Project Local Blues at it’s Best

Week 1 "The Buffalo Blues Project" Local Blues at it’s Best With a pretty good smack of early morning snow; it was a little tough getting out to the 1st show of the "Buffalo Blues Project". Arriving at Iris things looked a bit frozen & bleak. I was welcomed by a staunch group of enthusiastic Buffalo Musicians . All pitched in to setup the sound & backline. The room was buzzing with 'What are we gonna play' & "who's up first". Amazing how the don't know what they are playing, but, can't wait to play. What a great collaboration in both quality & diversity.First set: The Core band: Felix Mayer- Guitar (Bravuras), Bert Torres - Bass (Bravuras), John Prybylski- Drums (Bravuras, Flyin'... more

A Conversation with Glen Campell

The Rhinestone Cowboy “Hi, I’m Glen Campbell,” was how the country music legend started his weekly television show, “The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour,” from 1969-1972. As down-home and welcoming as he made you feel at the top of each show is how he made me feel when I caught up with him recently. Campbell will bring his signature voice and world renowned guitar playing to Seneca Allegany Casino for one show on Saturday, April 30, at 7 p.m. “I’m really looking forward to it,” the musician said. “It’s going to be a great show!” Campbell started playing guitar at the age of four and perfected it by the age of 10, which led to him being one of the most sought-after studio musicians... more

Christmas Greetings From The Stars

Three Christmas Interviews by Melanie Hulick Lisa Kelly ~ Lead vocalist of Celtic WomanFAMILY TRADITION? The whole family goes to Mom and Dad’s (in Ireland). It is very much a Santa house. I still make my dad get up at an unearthlyhour of the morning to go down and check if Santa has left. I don’t think he thought he’d still be doing that when his daughter was 34. (Laughs).FAVORITE FOOD? I must have turkey and ham, even though I don’t really like either. (Laughs). My sister was in Australia one year for Christmas, so my dad cooked steaks on the barbecue in the freezing cold in Ireland; yes a cookout on Christmas Day to celebrate the fact that... more

Once you go black, you never go back: how to survive Black Friday

When Paul Revere galloped on his horse through the streets at midnight, he announced “THE BRITISH ARE COMING!” As a sales associate in the area’s most bustling and busy shopping mall, I can attest to the urgency Revere felt. The arrival of Black Friday means that the SHOPPERS ARE COMING, and they are coming in droves, in SUVs with Ontario plates, foaming, drooling, salivating. They won’t be quiet, they won’t be peaceful, and they are not to be stopped. I will be pulling an all-nighter between 11:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving night to 9 a.m. Friday morning, working to serve eager bargain hunters and nocturnal/half-drunk holiday shoppers. I probably won’t have to deal with too much of an assault on this... more

Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 has been out for over 24 hours, your excitement shouldn’t die down just yet, unless you are a Mega Man fan. The fighting game enthusiast website, Shoryuken.com, posted late last week a bunch of scans from the guide to UMVC3, which revealed the secret alternate outfits for the roster that will be released as DLC in the future. Some of the outfits are great complements to their respective characters histories. Others are homages to characters who will not receive their own unique character in the game, and one is definitely a MVC inside joke. Two of the costumes are featuring the absent mascot of Capcom. Mega Man has not received his own dedicated character,696700... more

PC Version of Call of Duty Elite Not Guaranteed to Launch

EA has made mention over its official Twitter that the new dedicated social network and stat-tracker site “Call of Duty Elite,” may not end up supporting the PC version of the games. This comes on top of many other issues that have popped up since the launch of the services. The main issue holding back the PC version of the service is the lack of security on the platform. Many players can become proficient at cheating their stats or running modifications that other players don’t use. The PC version needs to work differently in order for fairness to be maintained. The new thinking is that COD Elite for PC will let players only track the players they choose, the people they put on a friends698700... more

Article Comparing Justin Bieber, Sandusky & Paterno is weird

I read an article earlier today written by Stephen Alexander on the site technorati.com . The article attempted to link Justin Bieber, Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno in a weird way through the Bible. If it wasn't so bizarre it would be offensive. You all know who Justin Bieber is, but some of the younger Bieber fans may not know who Jerry Sandusky and Joe Paterno are. For those who don't know, Jerry Sandusky, and Joe Paterno were once football coaches for Penn State College. Joe Paterno was the head coach and Sandusky was his assistant. Sandusky has recently been charged with molesting young boys while a coach at Penn State and Paterno, his boss, has been fired for not doing enough after he found... more
