Epic Games iOS hit, Infinity Blade, getting an Arcade Release

If you thought Infinity Blade looked so good it deserved to be on a screen bigger than 3.5-inch, get ready for a treat. Epic Games has announced that its Unreal Engine-powered iOS RPG from ChAIR Entertainment Studios is being brought to arcades, starting with Dave & Buster Restaurants, on 46-inch multitouch panel monitors.

Dubbed Infinity Blade FX, the game will feature single player and multiplayer modes, with two-screen setups supporting the multiplayer. The game is set to debut nationwide in Dave & Buster Restaurants on Friday, October 28, 2011, spreading to amusement parks and other facilities over time. The cabinets are being supplied by Adrenaline Amusements who are also responsible for giving the coin-op treatment to other popular iOS game, Fruit Ninja, as well.

No mention is made on whether players can use their iOS device version to transfer content to the units or earn additional content from them. The details on how the single player will work were not provided.

Currently, you can purchase Infinity Blade on the Apple App Store for $5.99. Infinity Blade 2 was announced during Apple’s iPhone press conference on October 4th, 2011 coming exclusively to iPhone 4S on December 1st, 2011.
