This is a warning to all Facebook members who are fans of Miley Cyrus and/or Emma Watson. There is a new scam going around on Facebook and you need to be on the lookout for it. There is a new Facebook scam going around. This time the 'face' of this scam is Miley Cyrus (again) and Emma Watson.
This isn't the first time Miley Cyrus has been used as the bait in a scam and it surely won't be the last. The scam artists are betting on the fact that most uniformed kids will click on anything that has to do with their favorite celebrities. For the most part they are right. It seems that kids just can't help themselves from clicking on anything that has Cyrus in the title.
This scam is titled "SICK! I lost all respect for Miley Cyrus when I watched this video!" It appears as a post on your wall. When you click on it you will be prompted to watch a video. When you click to watch the video you will be asked to fill out a survey. The people who are running this scam get money for every survey that gets filled out. This scam may also ask for your cell phone number and may make you vulnerable to spyware and viruses.
You should never click on a link that appears on your Facebook page unless it is from someone you know. Also, always be skeptical of any postings that have to do with celebrities, especially if your friends don't usually post links to stories like that.
