Husband decorates new home to bring holiday cheer to wife

There’s no better way to feel at home than with some holiday cheer, which is why a local husband went all out this year for the love of his life.

“She was in tears,” said John Bonafede, Son in law. “We just wanted to have it all done up for her, you know, to show our love and support.”

George Kramer, along with the help of Bonafede, elaborately decorated his home to bring a smile to wife, Sandy Kramer’s face. Sandy and George just recently moved to 1102 Maryvale Drive, Cheektowaga about a month ago.

Unfortunately Sandy’s sister was in the hospital so Sandy had to fly to Florida to visit her. George knew how hard this was on his wife, especially around the holidays, so he wanted to make sure that when she came home, she had a wonderful surprise waiting for her.

“We picked her up at the airport when it was eight or nine and she got to see the whole thing,” said Bonafede. “She really loved it, she thought she was in heaven.”

The holiday decorations are really a sight to see with two Christmas trees outside, deer, snowmen, and a lit up corral. The entire roof of the home and the garage is also decorated with beautifully colored lights that stands out amongst the rest.

“We have people take pictures, ask us how we did it and who went on the roof,” said Bonafede. “The biggest trick was trying to get the reindeer and sled up there without falling. It’s pretty slippery up there.”

Bonafede believes that their efforts in decorating have encouraged others in the neighborhood to get into the spirit too.
