Assemblyman hosts food drive, open house

Assemblyman Raymond Walter, R-Amherst, is conducting his second annual food drive to benefit the Food Bank of WNY throughout the month of December. Non-perishable food items can be delivered to the assemblyman’s district office located at 5555 Main St. in Williamsville, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday now until Dec. 31.

Walter will also be accepting donations when he hosts an open house at his office from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, providing a fun, relaxed atmosphere for constituents to get together and discuss their priorities in state government. Light refreshments will be served.

“Time and time again, Western New Yorkers have shown their charitable spirit and their willingness to extend a helping hand to their neighbors,” said Walter. “Last year’s food drive garnered a great response, and I hope we can make an even larger contribution to the Food Bank of WNY this year.

“In addition, I encourage anyone who can make it to stop by my open house to share their thoughts, concerns or just to say hello. I always enjoy meeting new people and receiving input on what issues state government must turn to next.”

For more information on the food drive or the open house, contact Walter by calling 634-1895 or e-mailing walterr@assembly.state.ny.us.
