BUFFALO - Joseph Lane, financial consultant, AXA Advisors, has been elected 2013 chairman of the 30th Annual Taste of Buffalo presented by TOPS.

The taste, the nation’s largest two-day food festival, is set for July 13 and 14, 2013, along Delaware Avenue and Niagara Square in downtown Buffalo.

“The taste is one of our region’s largest summer festivals, attracting thousands to downtown Buffalo and I’m extremely honored to serve as chairman of the 2013 event,” said Lane. “As a former restaurant general manager and now a board member, I have experienced the festival as both a vendor and also a volunteer and am looking forward to showcasing the best restaurants and wineries that call our region home.”

Lane has been involved with the taste since 2004, serving the past seven years on the board of directors and helping out as a volunteer prior to that. Currently, Lane is a financial consultant with AXA Advisors where he works with businesses and individuals to create, protect and distribute wealth and income. He hold an AAS degree in hotel and restaurant administration from Paul Smith’s College in Brighton, NY.
