ECC Law Enforcement Training Academy graudates 199th class

BUFFALO - Erie Community College celebrated its Law Enforcement Training Academy’s 119th Basic Course for Police Officers graduation inside the Buffalo Academy of Visual and Performing Arts on July 20th.

The graduating class included 59 candidates, consisting of 44 officers and 15 pre-employment candidates.

The graduating officers will continue on past their graduation into departments of the New York State Attorney General’s Medical Fraud Unit; Buffalo State College; and police departments in Brant, Buffalo and Tonawanda.

“This city and region have become a home for hundreds of thousands of people under the blanket of security these officers provide,” said ECC President Jack Quinn. “With every graduate ushered out into the streets of Western New York, local residents have another reason to breathe a sigh of relief. Today, we congratulate you all, and look forward to the safety and service you’ll provide.”

Some of the day’s notable attendees included City of Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown; Erie County Surrogate Court Judge Barbara Howe; Western New York police chiefs and officers; and members of the U.S. military.
