The Beyond the Ghost team at The Buffalo Central Terminal to investigate paranormal activity during Memorial Day weekend.
During the late hours of the night, in the eerie darkness of The Buffalo Central Terminal, the group of experienced paranormalists from the team, Beyond Ghosts, led a group of ghost enthusiasts from Western New York on the hunt to connect with those from beyond. The third anniversary of celebrating Memorial Day at the terminal welcomed 40 people to the event. Team members from Beyond Ghosts, John Crocitto, Ryan Willard, Brandon Bristow (Tech Guy), Marty Szewczyk, Christine Lis, and Chelsea Cimato were prepared with the proper equipment and training in order to provide a great experience for those who attended.
Crocitto and his team members have come across many intense paranormal experiences over the past few years they have been working together.
“I believe that what happens in life - lingers beyond. Therefore, the personality someone has while they are alive remains the same after they pass on,” Crocitto said.
Crocitto stressed that he does not try to persuade people into believing in ghosts or create any kind of false atmosphere for people to experience. The experiences the paranormalists have had are due to their openness to the possibility of life existing beyond what we physically know.
Bristow, who was described by the team as the team member who will most likely encounter a spirit, stated that the team and those involved in the search were able to connect with multiple spirits but they were not able to verify the information gathered that night.
The Beyond Ghosts team used equipment such as the K-2 meter, used for reading EMF (Electro Magnetic Fields) from man made and natural sources often used to communicate while asking spirits to manipulate the device in response to questions.
“The ‘hack shack,’ is very similar to an AM/FM radio that is modified for continuous scanning through all stations. The radio scans four stations per second,” Bristow said. “We use it to communicate with spirits by means of the spirits manipulation of the sound waves to speak through the radio.”
In addition to the use of the K-2 meter and the hack shack, the team also uses a basic voice recorder in the hopes of catching an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon).
“EVP’s are voices, noises, or responses that we do not hear at the time but upon reviewing the audio the voices are on our recording,” Bristow said.
The Buffalo Central Terminal evening welcomed celebrity guest, Katrina Weidman from the A&E television show, Paranormal State.
Guests were allowed a question and answer session where Weidman went into great depth about her ability to communicate with spirits, as well as provided the audience with some behind the scenes secrets from the show, Paranormal State.
Some of The Beyond Ghosts team will be traveling out of state to investigate the Twin City Opera House in McConnelsville, OH; The Brewerie at the Union Station in Erie, PA; the Palmyra Historical Society in Palmyra, NY; and the Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia, PA.
