Join in celebrating Lenten Journey 2013 at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Church

CHEEKTOWAGA - Parishioners of St. Aloysius Gonzaga Church have once again embarked on a series of opportunities to come and see who Jesus is and what Jesus calls us to become as a part of “Lenten Journey 2013.”
Sundays are designated as family days, encouraging families to participate in mass together. The children’s liturgy of the word is celebrated during the 9 a.m. Sunday liturgy. Participants in the RCIA continue their preparation for the Easter sacraments in the rectory following the 9 a.m. mass.
On Mondays during Lent, parishioners are encouraged to attend the Vicariate Lenten Series of discussions with neighboring parishes. The Family Rosary will take place at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays during Lent. Evening mass is celebrated at 7 p.m. Wednesdays.
A video presentation by Father Robert E. Barron will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursdays in the school. Various parish organizations will take part in Stations of the Cross at 7 p.m. on Fridays. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be held in the church from 4 to 4:45 p.m. on Saturdays.
Father Sean Fleming will present the topic “The Proclamation of the Kingdom” on March 4 at St. Andrew’s Church in Kenmore. A discussion on the topic “Prayer and the Dynamic Catholic” will take place at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 10.
St. Aloysius parishioners will join with members of Infant of Prague and the St. Jude Center on March 19 for a simple Lenten Meal at 5:30 p.m. followed by a 7 p.m. Lenten Penance service in the church.
In addition to the schedule for “Lenten Journey 2013” this Cheektowaga parish continues its daily 6:45 and 8:30 a.m. celebrations of mass. Eucharistic Adoration is held from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday.
