Our Lady of Charity Parish in Buffalo observes feast day

BUFFALO - The parishioners of Our Lady of Charity Parish, Buffalo, will observe their parish’s feast day. There will be prayers for all the parishioners at the 4 p.m. Mass at St. Ambrose Worship Site, 65 Ridgewood Road and at the 4:30 p.m. Mass at Holy Family Worship Site at South Park Avenue and Tifft Street on Saturday Sept. 8.

Our Lady of Charity is honored by sunflowers. The center circle of a sunflower is copper colors and is a reminder that Our Lady of Charity first appeared in the copper mine area of Cuba.

Also, prayer pamphlets in honor of Our Lady of Charity will be distributed. The pamphlets will include prayers as well as a history of the devotion to Mary under this title.

All in the community are invited to participate in this celebration. Our Lady of Charity Parish is composed of members of Saint Agatha, St. Ambrose and Holy Family parishes and has two worship sites.

The parish numbers 2,600 families and 150 children who attend Ambrose Catholic Academy.
