Serwinowski charged in homicide

TOWN OF TONAWANDA - Early Sunday morning, Town of Tonawanda Police encountered 22-year-old Edmund Serwinowski, as he attempted to flee the scene after he alledgedly stabbed a 34-year-old female at 26 Blackmore St., Town of Tonawanda, near the Sheridan Parkside area.
After a verbal dispute took place at a Blackmore home, Serwinowki is said to have stabbed the victim, his girlfriend of approximately one month, Jennifer Sacaridis in the torso multiple times with a knife. She was later pronounced dead at Kenmore Mercy Hospital.
“One of our patrol officers, Mark Scranton, caught Serwinowski on the street before he was able to leave the scene,” said Lt. Nick Bado.
Serwinowki was questioned by detectives, during which he made a statement implicating his involvement in the crime.
He is charged with murder in the second degree. Serwinowki is being held at the Erie County Holding Center.
