Lockport YMCA to get new look

The Greater Lockport Family YMCA is taking on a new look as part of the Y USA new branding strategy.

Ulrich Sign Company has replaced the old signage at the rear of the facility with the new logo adopted in 2010. Y’s throughout the country have until 2015 to comply with the new branding standards.

For the first time in 43 years the Y is implementing a new brand strategy to increase understanding of the impact our organization makes in the community, so that more people take advantage of the YMCA’s unique capacity to foster lasting personal and social change.

The Y is about changing lives for the better. They view participation in programs and services as a means to a greater end. Therefore, through their rebranding effort, they want to help the communities learn more about their work; so they can help them learn and grow.

By simplifying how they describe their programs, they hope it will be apparent that everything they do is designed to nurture the potential of children and teens (Youth Development), improve health and well-being (Healthy Living) and motivate people to support their neighbors and the larger community (Social Responsibility).
