Mane Xpressions Salon now open on Robinson Road in Lockport

Offering the Lockport community a family friendly atmosphere, Mane Xpressions Salon has been open for business since June.

Holding their grand opening in August, owners Cheryl and Walter L. Wawrcynek are excited to have a salon in Lockport.

Originally from West Seneca, Cheryl is a graduate of the Continental School of Beauty and has more than 20 years of experience. She first owned a salon in the Southtowns but said she had to close in 2005, after the change in the economy.

Since then, she has found roots in Lockport and has been living here for the past two and a half years.

“I knew I wasn’t going to be happy until I was back behind the chair in my own salon,” said Cheryl.

So with the help of Walter, the couple was able to create a new salon in Lockport, offering “a comfortable climate with affordable pricing.”

Located at 6312 Robinson Road, next to Subway, Cheryl believes the location will be convenient to many living in the area.

Mane Xpressions is a full services salon, offering many hair services, including haircuts, colors, permanents, highlights and styling.

They also offer waxing services, manicures, pedicures, facials, ear piercing and makeup applications.

The salon carries retail products, including Joico and Sexy Hair products. Cheryl also has plans to turn the front of her salon into a gift destination, selling candles, jewelry and other gift items.

Those wishing to hold a ladies night out, or a bridal or birthday party can do so at the salon.

All ages are welcome and both walk-ins and appointments are accepted.

Besides Cheryl there are two stylists on staff, and Lisa Ciaravino, who specializes in a variety of extended services. Her services include tattoo removal, permanent cosmetics, Reiki, skin needling, low level laser therapy and skin tightening.

Cheryl said Mane Xpressions is a family run business. Both Walter and his son Travis help out at the salon.

This fall, Mane Xpressions will help Travis and his fellow Lockport High School Robotics team members by sponsoring the group.

Cheryl said she also plans on creating a drop-off location at the salon for donation for the Lakeview Animal Sanctuary. After last week’s barn fire, she said she really wanted to help.

From noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 10, Mane Xpressions will be holding cut-a-thon to raise money for Look Good Feel Better.

The cost of each haircut during that time is $10.

Look Good Feel Better is a non-profit organization that helps more than 50,000 women nationwide each year who are undergoing cancer treatment, helping them cope with the appearance-related side effects of treatment.

Mane Xpressions is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, noon to 8 p.m. Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
