Mt. St. Mary Academy to host Buffalo Jazz Review

KENMORE - High school jazz bands from throughout the region will perform at Mount St. Mary Academy, the site of the third annual “Buffalo Jazz Review,” starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 21. The event will draw hundreds of jazz enthusiasts who hope to sneak a peek at the area’s best and brightest young musicians.

The evening will include performances by talented jazz groups in a night club-like setting. Featured musicians will perform on two stages and will include: Mount St. Mary Academy Jazz Ensemble, Barker High School, Sweet Home High School, Albion High School, Depew High School, St. Francis High School, Lancaster High School, Dunkirk High School and Holland High School.

“This is a unique opportunity to see high caliber and award-winning jazz ensembles all performing together in one venue,” says John Hathaway, Mount St. Mary Academy Band Director.

Along with great music, there will be food and refreshments available for purchase. Proceeds from the event, hosted by Mount St. Mary Academy, will benefit the school’s instrumental music program.

Mount St. Mary’s Buffalo Jazz Review will be held at the school’s gymnasium (3756 Delaware Avenue in Kenmore. Tickets for the show are $5 in advance or $8 at the door.
