Cheektowaga residents make it a priority to vote on Election Day 2012

“The last four years have been a total flop in our country and I followed it very closely, said Cheektowaga resident, Mary Jean Paradise. “I sure hope people have paid attention and listened.”
“I feel our opinions do matter and a lot of people out there need to make their vote count,” said Cheektowaga resident, Caleb Suszek. “You need to participate and exercise your freedom to vote. It’s just part of being an American.”
Whether they’re a Republican or a Democrat, residents had one thing in common Tuesday, Nov. 6 and that was to try and make a difference in this years election. Well, America voted and Barack Obama received the winning ticket for a second term as our President of the United States. Obama promised Americans change in the next four years and residents are hoping he lives up to that promise.
“Tonight in this election, you, the American people, reminded us that while our road has been hard, while our journey has been long, we have picked ourselves up, we have fought our way back, and we know in our hearts that for the United States of America, the best is yet to come,” said Obama.
Congressman Brian Higgins also won his seat in the 26th Congressional district, which includes Cheektowaga, Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Amherst, Grand Island, and the Tonawandas.
