Celebrate National Night Out in Gowanda

National Night Out will be celebrated in Gowanda on Tuesday, Aug. 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. on the American Legion Post 409 grounds, rain or shine.
This is a national event and was last held locally in 2005. The event promotes community and safety.
This year's National Night Out will include Gowanda Police Department, New York State Police, Gowanda Fire Department and Gowanda Ambulance Squad, all who are planning demonstrations (K9, extrication drill, etc). In addition, the Masons will be holding their "Child ID" program in the Village Hall (Municipal Building) meeting room.
The Gowanda PTA will be providing popcorn, face painting and kiddie tattoos, and the Gowanda WaveRunners will be serving cotton candy (free).
More activities are in the planning stages.
