NIAGARA COUNTY - Do to our current success on our path and goal of becoming a No Kill shelter we’ve made some big changes to better help us achieve these goals. Amy Lewis, who helped save our shelter during the toughest time in our shelter’s history along with our new Board of Directors, together have tremendously increased the number of animals placed into homes or rescue situations, care, fostering and re-homing of our furry visitors realize that there is much more that still needs to be done. There is not enough time in a day for any one person to run the entire operation of our shelter on our current mission path so as of Monday October 1, the Niagara County SPCA has made some fantastic changes.
Amy Lewis will be taking over as our shelter director to laser guide us into achieving our No Kill initiative and to implement the enormous tasks and programs involved in achieving this. Andrew Bell, our most recent board president, has resigned his position from our board and will be coming aboard as the executive director to guide us through the enormous business needs and expenses involved in running a business with these lofty new goals. Bryan Barish was voted in as our new board president and Dave Bauer was voted in as our new vice president. Our board is extremely excited about these changes and feels that these individuals with the support of our board of directors will get us there. We thoroughly believe that we are now another step closer to achieving our goals.
With these goals we have never been in more need of the support of our wonderful individual and corporate donors and sponsors. This initiative is very costly and with the huge loss of donors prior to our new management taking over we are in dire straits. We are very confident that animal lovers everywhere will support us with these goals.
We also invite all of our friends and Zombies to our first annual Zomiefest fund-raiser on from 2 to 11 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Niagara County SPCA.
To view adoptable animals, please visit us from noon to 8 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, Fridays; from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays; and from noon to 5 p.m. Sundays or visit our website niagaraspca.org.
