City of Tonawanda Police responded to a call early Tuesday morning to a report of a man driving erratically.

A stolen vehicle driven by Jacob W. Bell, 55, of West Utica Street, Buffalo, led the car chase through the City of Tonawanda and then proceeded to continue driving into the Town of Tonawanda.

The chase started on Delaware Street in the city, as Bell then led law enforcement into the town where he crashed the vehicle into a tree.

Bell fled the scene on foot, but was later caught on Glenalby Road, Town of Tonawanda.

Two City of Tonawanda police cars were damages during the chase.

Bell is charged with DWI; driving a stolen vehicle; fleeing a police officer; driving with a suspended license; and seven additional traffic charges
