It’s a digital world now days, and that goes for pets too. The latest technologies, including digital x-rays and sonograms are used to keep pets healthy at Ridge Animal Hospital, 3493 Stone Road in Middleport. This equipment, along with tours, displays and live demonstrations will be featured at the Saturday, Sept. 29 open house from 1 to 3 p.m.
The friendly staff at Ridge Animal Hospital will be giving tours so that people can see the inside the hospital, where modern equipment is used to care for pets.
There is the cat cove, a cat friendly area in the waiting room that is set aside so cats can wait for the doctor away from dogs. The public can also see the “cat only” exam room and the “cat only” hospital ward, designed to minimize stress for a more comfortable hospital visit.
There will also be a live demonstration and dog training session of basic commands like sit, stay and come.
“People always ask how to get their dog to respond to these basic commands,” said Barb Wright, licensed veterinary technician at the hospital. “I will be sharing some helpful tips to pet owners to use in training their dogs as I work with my own dog at our session.”
There will also be dental care demonstration and a cutest pet contest. Visitors can also enjoy a hot dog and refreshments, along with entering to win door prizes.
“Clients are often surprised by the wide range of services we can offer,” said David Monti, partner at Ridge Animal Hospital. “Since our goal is to provide the best care we possible can. Our hospital is equipped with modern equipment allowing us to provide services, such as diagnostic testing, orthopedic surgery, radiography and stem cell therapy.”
The open house takes place rain or shine and pet owners are encouraged to bring a friend along, all furry leashed pets are welcome.
