Sister Helen’s Pantry at St. John’s Outreach in Lockport will hosted its first annual Diaper Pantry’s kickoff party on April 28, at the St. John’s the Baptist RC Church Hall, 168 Chestnut St., in Lockport.
Their goal for the year is 15,000 diapers. The drive will continue through Mat 31.
More than 11,000 diapers were collected through last year’s event and those diapers have helped more than 100 families monthly with their diaper needs.
Many struggle to provide babies with this essential need.
Some mothers face having to clean out and reuse soiled diapers or have to choose between diapers and other back needs, like food.
For more information or to donate diapers contact program coordinator Deborah Dimmig at 433-5252.
