Miskey awarded Shining Star Award in Tonawanda

CITY OF TONAWANDA - John G. Miskey III will receive the St. Francis of Assisi Shining Star Award at the seventh annual St. Francis of Assisi School Alumni Mass and Reunion on Saturday, August 18, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Tonawanda.
This award is presented to an individual for unselfish dedication of time, talent and service in support of the ideals and spirit of St. Francis of Assisi School. John is a 1963 graduate of St. Francis of Assisi School. He and his wife Kathleen live in the City of Tonawanda and are parishioners at St. Francis of Assisi Church. They have four children, also St. Francis alumni, and four grandchildren. John is a strong advocate for Catholic education and supporter of St. Francis of Assisi School. He shares his time and talents on the St Francis School Endowment, Alumni, the Window of Change Capital Campaign and Chapel Committees.
The celebration begins at 4:30 p.m. with the Alumni Mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 144 Broad Street at Clinton Park in Tonawanda, followed by an informal dinner in the Adam Street School. All St. Francis School Alumni are encouraged to contact former classmates and plan to attend with their families. After dinner there will be time to reminisce and browse through the pictures and displays.

The first question that comes to mind for me is, the "mayor" and her husband are both in the fire department, both EMT's, so why instead of stopping the ambulance didn't they just take over if the driver wasn't qualified? It's real comforting knowing that if you call 911 in Farnham your ambulance might be delayed by a mayor on a power trip. Someone should remind her this isn't a dictatorship and put her in her place. Excellent representation of the village, but what do you expect from someone who won the position by default? Maybe next election they could at least get a chimp to run against her, I'm sure you can guess who they'll vote for this time.
