First big raffle to be held at the Alden Farmers Market
They were great crowd-pleasers last season. Harmonica Vic is a member of the WNY Blues Society and has played with a ride range of musicians.
His partner, Cinde, accompanies on acoustic rhythm guitar and also sings. They play a broad variety of traditional and familiar tunes.
The winning raffle ticket for a fabulous basket of Alden-area goodies, valued at more than $1,000, will be drawn at approximately 12:45 p.m..
Remember to buy tickets either at the Market or at several locations around Alden – Alden Pharmacy, Carbone’s Pizzeria, or the Chamber of Commerce office. Time is running out.
Non-winners of this basket will be entered into an exciting “second chance” raffle for a delightful picnic basket donated by Elizabeth Harris of Country Kitchen & Gifts, one of the market’s long-standing vendors.
The basket includes a a beautiful handmade afghan, several jams and jellies and assorted gourmet teas and cocoas; it is valued at approximately $175.
The drawing for it will be held after the drawing for the second “gift certificate basket” on closing day, Oct. 6.
The Alden Lions Club is represented at the market every week, as part of the Henry’s Candy vendor booth. They have USA-made, American Flags for sale, along with the very handy Alden “Sight-saver” Telephone Directory – which is produced by the Lions Club. They also will accept donations of eyeglasses.
Market sponsors, the Alden Chamber of Commerce, will sell coffee, pop, pizza and hot dogs on July 28.
The annual Village Wide Garage Sale will be Aug 4.
