City of Tonawanda
September 9
DWI
Michael J. Best, 25, Gibson Street, Tonawanda, was arrested Sunday, Sept. 9 for DWI, aggravated DWI and speeding. Best was observed driving 40 mph in a 30 mph zone. When patrol approached him, he told the officer he drank “two draft beers at a stag party.” He later remembered that he also drank a “rum and coke.” Best failed his field tests, his BAC was .24. He was held for court.

September 7
DWI
Jennifer M. Lorenzo was arrested Friday, Sept. 7 for DWI - first offense and moving from lane unsafely. She was observed drifting out of her lane. She told patrol she was coming from The Deuce. Lorenzo tested positive for alcohol.
September 9
Multiple Charges
Priscilla M. Donahue and Marshall R. Steffans were arrested Sunday, Sept. 9 for burglary in the third degree, petit larceny, possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief with intent to damage property and criminal impersonation.
DWI
Christopher D. Giesler was arrested, in the Town of Tonawanda, for DWI-first offense, operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08 or more and moving from lane unsafely. Giesler was involved in a car accident. He stated to police that he was tired and dozed off. After he failed his field tests and was taken back to the station, his BAC was .15.
DWI
Jose D. Colon was arrested Sunday, Sept. 9, for DWI - first offense, aggravated DWI - with a BAC of more than .18, operating a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver and crossing the divider limited access highway.
Colon was observed by patrol drifting on the divider on Sheridam Drive.

Assault
Randall B. Bicz, was arrested in the Town of Tonawanda Monday, Sept. 10, for assault in the third degree - with intent to cause injury, criminal obstruction of breathing and DWI (previous conviction within 10 years).
Patrol responded to a domestic incident that Bicz was involved in. They were later informed Bicz was driving his car around while intoxicated. When law enforcement located him, he refused to take the road side breath test.

Mischief
Michael J. Wells, 28, Kohl Street, North Tonawanda, was arrested Sunday, Sept. 9 for criminal mischief. Bail was set at $250.
Unlawful possession
Gilbert A. Santiago, 25, Burns Court, Tonawanda, was arrested Sunday, Sept. 9 for unlawful possession of marijuana, DWAI drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree and no seat belt. Bail was set at $250.

Michael Confer, 50, was arrested by Kenmore Police Saturday, Sept. 1 for harassment in the second degree and forcible touching.

Jeronica G. Davis, 23, was arrested Monday, Sept. 10 for operating a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver, aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree and violating the muffler exhaust system volume.

The following reports are the time, date, place and occurrences of incidents in which the fire department responded to:
• 25 EMS incidents, including one motor vehicle accident
• One Alarm of Fire:
1. At 2:11 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, crews responded to 344 Hinds St., to smoke in the building. A small cooking fire was found, there was no damage.
• Five Still alarms:
1. Just before 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, crews responded to 195 Main St. to a burning electrical outlet.
2. At 7:25 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, Seymour Street Bridge, vehicle fire, out on arrival.
3. At 9:46 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, Niawanda Park, burning charcoal left on the ground.
4. At 10:41 a.m. Sept. 6, 60 Main St., elevator emergency alarm, false alarm.
5. At 5:25 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 8 Queen St., gasoline spill.
• One Investigation:
1. At 7:56 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 228 William St., illegal open burning.
• Two Assistance calls:
1. At 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, Niagara and Main Street, vehicle lockout.
2. At 12:41 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 11 Maple St., remove cat stuck behind water heater inside the home.
• One Mutual Aid Response:
Just after 2 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, fire crews responded to 25 Sawyer Ave., Town of Tonawanda, to assist Town Firefighters at hazardous materials fire at FMC Corporation.
• Four Fire Safety Inspections at various businesses:
1. 20 Main St.
2. 23 Main St.
3. 63 Main St.
4. 115 Fillmore Ave.
