LANCASTER- Friends of Reinstein Nature Preserve, Inc. invites the public to “Nature’s Gathering: An Evening of Art, Wine and Cheese,” from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Father Justin Knights of Columbus Hall, 2735 Union Road, in Cheektowaga. The event will raise funds to support environmental education programs at Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve.
“This is the third year we’re holding this event, and the array of art and wine is better than ever,” said Friends’ President Terry Boyle. “We’re excited to connect people to these local artisans the same as we connect people to nature through Reinstein Woods’ programs that this fund-raiser supports.”
Participants will enjoy a wine tasting from five area wineries, including Chateau Buffalo, Leonard Oakes Estate Winery, Willow Creek Winery, Niagara Landing Wine Cellars, and Black Willow Winery. A local musician will provide atmosphere while more than 20 artists display and sell nature photography, paintings, painted glass, jewelry, and other unique forms of art.
Local artisan cheese from Yancey’s Fancy and an exceptional selection of hors d’oeuvres featuring wild edibles will be served. A basket auction will take place throughout the night.
Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the Reinstein Woods Environmental Education Center, 93 Honorine Drive, Cheektowaga, or by printing a ticket order form available on the DEC Website. For more information, call 683-5959.
