Lancaster Parks and Recreation announce summer leagues

LANCASTER- The weather may be frightful outside, but Lancaster Parks and Recreation is already looking forward to the summer of 2013.
For the 52nd consecutive year, the department will again run softball leagues for 2013, which will start in mid May. This year will feature the men’s classic league, the men’s 40 and over league, as well as the popular coed league. The men’s classic league will play on Wednesdays, while our 40 and over and coeds will play on Thursdays. This year will also see an expansion of non-residency rules for our men’s 40 and over league. Please contact the recreation office for further details on these changes.
In just its second year is the adult coed kickball league. This playground favorite proved to be a big hit in its inaugural year of existence. This league will again play on Friday evenings.
Also popular since 1994 is the women’s outdoor sand volleyball league. It runs on Tuesday nights at Walden Pond Park and starts in early June.
All teams from 2012 will be shortly contacted by mail, with formal registration in early March for all leagues. The Lancaster Parks and Recreation Office does anticipate openings in all leagues.

So get some friends together, form up a team, and we will see you in the summer of 2013.
